The good thing about ADTR, is even though they're mainstream now, they haven't lost touch with their roots. Where most bands are singing new songs from their new albums all the time, you can hear ADTR sing some of their first ones and mix it up.

Agreed. No screaming on my radio, Infact, there's barely even rock on my radio! so I stopped using it. The only stuff on my local radio= Classical music (Which is okay but they don't play the good stuff) and Modern Pop (which is HORRIBLE). I love rock, And metal. ADTR is one my favorite bands. I only discovered them under a month ago, and I already love their music :)

I hear adtr on the radio sometimes and they definatly are more popular then most post hardcore (really popcore) bands. I wouldn't say they are mainstream though. Some of my other fav's are the used, glassjaw, chiodos, and in fear and faith.

Anyone who says they have sold out is sadly mistaken. Most people think that they have sold out because their tone has changed. Look at other popular artists who tones have changed over the years: Slipknot went to more emotional tones-which won them a Grammy, Daft Punk went to more repetitive tones-which caused their greatest tour, and Michael Jackson became more serious after his trial- Which won him overwhelming support. Just because tone changes does not mean they sold out, punks.

I've seen so many fans bail because they don't like that they've gone 'mainstream' but read their lyric from A Shot In the Dark "Mark my words, we're taking over the world." Sadly kids, you can't achieve this goal by only appealing to hardcore ADTR fans. Not recognizing this band for what they've become is kinda ignorant, given that they just want to change the world, and always have had that goal. Now they're doing that like no band in the past has done.

Everyone bitching about Homesick, have you not heard "you already know what you are"? That song is 1.27 of pure amazingness. Hearing it live sent shivers down my spine. The drop is ridiculous :D But tbh, FTWHH is still the best.

@MakutaThe2 post hardcore =/= pop punk and hardcore. post hardcore is any music that was inspired by hardcore. hence, "after" hardcore. ADTR was influenced by many hardcore bands. So yes, they're post-hardcore in a sense

@MiguelADTR i just wanna say that i completely disagree with wut ur saying about the new album. the only real change that happend with their new songs is that they are heavier than the old stuff. if u had ears you would be able to hear that its still got the same old lyrics style, but almost every song has a heavier scream, lower singing, and the guitar is definately on lower notes most of the time

But you have to admit that what seperates me from you sang way more, and didnt have nearly as much screaming as there other albums. compare "heartless to "if i leave"!!!! i mean this new album had only 3 or 4 breakdowns. and in homesick they had one pretty much every song. ADTR is one of my favorite bands. but this new album was kinda a joke.
