Another excellent video Les, I really must try and get up to Carlisle again at some point. I assume that it's because the south end offers a better vantage point but I notice that Northern DMU services feature quite prominently whilst Scotrail arrivals and departures hardly ever feature so more coverage would be nice.
@LeslieGilpinRailwaysАй бұрын
@@johncherrington6080 thanks John. There's a little ScotRail activity in the next but one video. It tends to get missed within the station.

Another enjoyable video Leslie , I've been busy this morning so made myself a cuppa and settled down to watch this ...great stuff, it always amazes me when I watch the train crew charges on your videos just how much responsibility is on the shoulders of the crews , being in charge of all that power and weight behind them ....amazing people all keeping the country moving.....thanks again

Nice, as always. I really enjoyed the Freightliner electric locos in the Orange with Black colors. That's the colors of their owners, Genesee and Wyoming. It just celebrated its 125th anniversary. All started with a short line in upstate New York!
@LeslieGilpinRailwaysАй бұрын
Earlier this year the Investors of Genesee & Wyoming split the company such that G&W has ownership of the US operations whilst Freightliner will be a separate company again with ownership of European operations. Some Freightliner locos have already lost their 'a Genesee & Wyoming Company' vinyls. Their US short lines seem to be everywhere in the USA

It was only by chance I had a look rather than going to the front - I wanted a final 'going away' shot for the outro. I've seen 1958 before but not 55. Mind you the bogies are probably a lot younger.

12:37 ….reversal of the train takes place where? Is there a triangle down south near Upperby? Thoroughly enjoyable with your usual wide range of motive power and freight! Always love the Tesco trains….❤❤
@LeslieGilpinRailwaysАй бұрын
Its a long train and heavy on its westward run. Freightliner run the trains as two legs running around at Kingmoor Yard. There is no direct route from the S&C to the Tyne Valley line.
@theo-v7tАй бұрын
The special went south on the WCML but reappeared as if from SC or Tyne valley, diesel still leading?
@LeslieGilpinRailwaysАй бұрын
@@theo-v7t getting my trains mixed up. The steam charters reverse into the sidings at Upperby for servicing. They then head north then east around the chord to London Road junction on the Newcastle line. Then the diesel hauls the train back into the station with the steam loco at the south end.
