Last steam powered cotton mill

Queen Street Mill Burnley, a fantastic blast from the past. A steam mill engine and an amazing loom floor with almost a thousand cotton looms on the floor.

My great grandfather worked himself into an early grave working in a room just like this one. We went to a museum where they turned on one of these looms to demonstrate the noise it made and my grandmother burst into tears on the spot.

how about windup instead of steam

Interesting question, but unfortunately, it would run very shortly before having it to be rewound. But, on the other hand, there are engines that have a windup starter. The short but powerful output of a windup motor is just enough to start an engine.

Cameraman you had one job. Hold the camera still, pan much slower and smoother, let the viewer take in the scene, don't be so hurky jerky. And above all, STAY AWAY FROM THE ZOOM BUTTON.
