Если кому нужно, это гонок для ткацкого станка, их в станке две штуки, по ним бьет ударный механизм и они гоняют туда-сюда челнок. Непонятны две вещи. Во-первых - зачем так упарываться с изготовлением этой приблуды? И во-вторых - почему бы не вставить в видео минуту демонстрации, как работает гонок? Мне пришлось гуглить пять минут сначала адекватный перевод, а потом пояснение, что это за вещь -_-

это башмак погонялки. на трехсменке оно молотит сутками без остановки, потому и "упарываются". сила удара по челноку такова, что если противоположная погонялка отьебнула, то он , челнок, летит далеко и долго. убить не убьет, но писданет не по децки. ну по крайней мере на наших ат-110м. у этих папуасов станки неавтоматические, замена шпульки от руки. кено "светлый путь" блин.

OK -- I watched this video and have no idea what this "thing" is used for. Would have been nice if they had shown us how it is used. I looked up "power looms pickers" and found nothing. Power looms yes. These are the machines that weave fabric. Like someone said in the comments, this part could easily have been made of plastic and saved lots of labor. They all did a fine job making this thing.

no plastic or rubber has been found that can stand the constant impacts that the picker experiences. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_loom Here is a perfect video of a picker in action. It is mounted on top of the wooden piece that whacks the shuttle across the loom. The wooden piece also has a restraining loop also of thick cowhide. FYI all the cogs and links at end of video needed a trained mechanic and in England that training was done in the old Mechanics Institutes that are seen around. The power loom was about the only complicated equipment along with watches and clocks back in 1800 so a mechanic who could make all those parts and adjust them to get the loom making good cloth was a respected worker. Quote: 'Why is it called the Mechanics Institute? The origins of the movement named after them can be traced to Scotland in 1800 when Dr George Birkbeck of Glasgow's Andersonian Institute began presenting lectures to local mechanics about new technology. These became very popular because Birkbeck offered them without fees.'

pickers are what bash the shuttle from one side of a loom to the other to weave cloth. the shuttle has a small pirn-bobbin of thread that runs side to side in cloth.

This is India I doubt that they throw away anything ! They are the leaders at the moment in recycling waste like Sugar cane waste and many plastics and papers. I visited India a few times, even married an Indian guy, the people are incredible, fantastic really fresh food but sadly the streets are a mess. I think that there is even a woman who made one of the first bio fuels from waste.
