I live in Kansas and a fire like that is typically dangerous because of the wind.

This was way way bigger than I could capture in the camera. I’m gonna guess 15-20 acres were on fire at that point. We drove up to the top of the mountain and it was all the way up there just rolling.

I talked to My brother. There are frost plugs in the top of the head under the valve cover. If the tractor was overheated or a bad head gasket would over pressure the system and knock one out. Pull the valve cover and repeat your test. I also bet you have a bad head gasket.

No liners in the engine , best bets look for a decent 2nd hand block

I am sure your buddy was expecting the worst but hoping for the best . Then again I won’t mention the fire nearby . Let’s hope the rebuild is uneventful

Hoping it will go well. Fire was no big deal but it was a massive fire. Woods looking great now! In the middle of 4-500 acres so it burned till it quit. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment.

That’s not porosity. You’ve got a head gasket or a hole. Porosity is a drip.

Is definitely pouring in very fast. Barely poured anything in there and it came right out. So it’s going to be low in the cylinder. We will see soon. Going in the shop fairly soon. Thanks for watching and commenting!!

Ford used bored blocks, not sleeves. You might have a bigger problem.😮

@@poorfarm-nn6ii Good luck, my friend. A new block may be cheaper. You may find out it's just a blown head gasket, or something cheap like that. 🤞We had a 404 overbored in a 9600 back in the early 90's, and the only problem it has is blowing freeze plugs behind the cast iron console. 🙄

@@MorganOtt-ne1qj that’s too bad. We are hopeful it won’t be insane. But there was a guy that hit me up about a recently rebuilt motor in a matching tractor as well. We will do what’s cost effective but also reliable.

@@poorfarm-nn6ii Those old Blue beasts can pull better than anything in their league, but when something goes on the block, they get expensive very fast. The pistons in our 9600 actually wiggled at BDC on almost every cylinder, but were tight at the top. Amazing thing: it didn't use much oil. Go figure.
