Last Time Ever CONDOR EXPRESS Arrives in Guernsey From Weymouth

The high speed ferry Condor Express arriving in Guernsey from Weymouth, on the last official day that it was in service for Condor Ferries. Plus there's a rare chance to see the Condor Express going astern (reversing) from outside the harbour, all the way to it's berth. This was filmed on the 23rd March 2015.
The Condor Express is seen painted in a plain white livery, this was because it had been sold to it's new company Seajets, a ferry company in Greece and was being used by Condor Ferries until the official hand over date around Easter 2015.
This was the last official day that the Condor Express was in service for Condor Ferries and was filmed in the daytime. It actually arrived from Weymouth again later that night, but for obvious reasons it would have been difficult to see it. It also had to be bought back into service for a short time after this date due to problems with Condor Liberation which was replacing Condor Express and Condor Vitesse.

Great pity they stopped the Weymouth route. It's much more difficult to travel to Poole from Cornwall, as, to arrive by 0530 Present LTA for 0630 departure, we had to leave at 2 am! And Poole is a nightmare with its road systems!

Sorry to be picky but the Connor Express only made one entrance into Guernsey from Weymouth and then again from Jersey and didn't sail again on 23rd in your description you make it sound like she sailed twice that day I can for sure tell you she didn't as I was on the final crossing from Weymouth

+Darren Osbourne No not railway. That was a new dockside crane being moved into position for the first time, seen in the background at about 9:30.

***** It had been painted all white in readiness to go to it's new owner. They had sold it by this time, but the handover wasn't until after this day sometime. It was bought by Seajets in Greece and has their livery on it now.

This ship looks like it was styled by Pininfarina. I still don't get why they chose not to equip it with a normal smoke stack. Diesel exhaust is carcinogenic.

Yes my friend and I bet it is still doing an excellent service down there in your country. It was the worst thing Condor did was sell this and Condor Vitesse. We have been left with a very poor ferry service since, with other new vessels that are unsuitable for our waters and constantly having technical problems. It's a gamble if you will even get to your destination now and many people have switched to flying instead and hiring a car at their destination. It often works out cheaper too.
