As someone said, this is not a Huracan. No need to shift from 2nd to 1st gear, this is not good for this type of car. This car has brutal amount of torque, it can accelerate from 2nd gear from low RPM's without any effort at all. No need for manual mode on 65amg. I feel the long-awaited 7speed gearbox completely doesn't suit the TT V12. Before I got my CL600 with the old 5speed (same as in the 65 AMG models until 2015) I thought the old and slow transmission would spoil the experience - now I think it's an integral part of the feel of the V12. It's so smooth and seamless, the car almost feels electric-powered. Here it feels oddly out of sync and frantic. I don't get it. The rev flares on downshifts and jerkiness of upchanges seems completely unsuited to a 2+ tonne elephant.
@kanchingyg3 жыл бұрын
Ive driven some 5g amgs and i have to say that its much better suited for big torque figure engines than the 7 speed. The e55 and cls55 have a super tall gearing and honestly its great because amg engines have a lot of torque anyway. It really suits the character of the car.
@Evan-McM3 жыл бұрын
I think the driver here is doing vastly more to make the car look jerky, unrefined and frantic than the gearbox...left in auto mode and driven by someone who knows what they're doing, I don't think it's anything like what's shown here. I do agree that the 5 speed is definitely well-suited to these cars, having driven a couple of those.

I have the 2007 S65 AMG (RennTECH) 78,000 miles: Wow, please get this rookie some pride and the love for this car? I own my 65 for 5 years. This car never been out of sport mode being a performance luxury sedan car. Furthermore, I'm a southern owner, cruising the Gulf Coast in October, hands down never been beat to date. Lastly; In my opinion, these cars are very powerful and make a statement, but they can be fragile of a V-12 misuse or misunderstanding of this rare car ending in 2019, nevertheless of any common problems owning one. I'm a little amaze to see the notification of oil display, he smartly pulled over and parked. My 65 will say add 1 quart of oil? Just for the record, the S 65 has well enough performance in drive w/o paddle shifting, crazy?

I have that issue intermittently on all of my amgs. In this video it’s exacerbated by him holding it in first gear for no reason. I always felt it is in relation to the clutch not fully engaging so it slips a bit and coupled with the high torque of these amg engines results in a “bucking”. Whenever it happens to me I just let off throttle for a second and roll back on. This only seems to happen in low throttle acceleration never in full on acceleration
