The Klein CL390 is a good meter for the cost and, importantly, does true RMS readings. It also has many extra functions... temp, diode, capacitance, frequency, etc.

You won't ever get lost in the woods. The search and rescue team can just point a metal detector in your general direction and pick up all the tools you have on you.

Doc, I'm in the market for digital meters, so I was glad to see this video. Any chance you could put one together on your favorite digital multimeters and clamp meters? Better yet, also throwing your 2 cents on AC manifold gauges and we'll have a complete summer time guide to AC tools! 😊

Hey doc, any chance you plan on giving these new wire strippers a review? I'm interested in them but I need your opinion!

A friend once mentioned he'd like a pair of those Snap-On stripper/crimpers... and I ordered up a pair for a gift off the S/O website. They arrived looking horrible, like they'd been on a truck for a few years, handled by every last grubby hand passing through (but did appear unused). I wrote S/O, explained the situation & they said just keep them, and they'd send out replacements. They did; with the second pair looking even worse! Neither pair was giftable, not by a long shot. A colossal waste of time & money. Cheesed me off. IMHO they're now using the website for dumping shelf worn dealer returns, as I've since seen and/or heard of several similar instances.

You are always missing the best ones for less tools on crimpers and cutters. That cl100 series is the toughest meter though. You might have to hit it to get the batteries to make contact again but it always works. I put my tools in water and have to work outside in the rain so they hold up through that. The Klein 1005 was the best crimper and light straight cutter and I carried them for a decade. They came out w the 2005n and it has the same crimper and cutter and Klein quality long handle stripper that does 10 gauge and is super easy to strip 8 gauge I work w without tearing up the wire inside. The crimper is the best one because the handles are really long and you still don’t break the insulation no matter how hard you squish them. I would argue that you are missing out if you don’t carry the Klein 2005n for a while and use them to cut zipties around important stuff and have the best crimpers and a good wire stripper in one tool

Took a look at that clamp DMM, but ended up with an Astro AI (4000 ct) for almost 50% less.

Just wondering what the number is for the Klein pliers with the cutter on the end? I have a set like that but they don’t have strippers, just cutters and crimpers with the long handles.
