Your great attention to detail and not carelessly getting caught up in rushing a project using tools that would make the project go by faster but not as detailed, is what makes these projects a "Lasting Build". You build with such quality and attention to detail that they should last generations. And that's how it should be. I'm really enjoying your channel. I'm glad to see you in this space. -Will

Brilliant work, I’m just working my way through organising my workshop, after realising that 50% of my time, was spent, rummaging through boxes of drill bits, reamers, collets and endmills. It transform your psychology when you have a clean workflow.💪💪💪🤣❤️

The build turned out really well. I would just be worried stabbing myself on those spade bits. I will be building one for sure 👍😎🇦🇺

Thanks! It’s not in a high traffic area so hopefully I won’t get stabbed 😆

I just made something like this (not quite so fancy). But I had some confusion on yours, until I realized the bits I did mine for had hex shanks all the same size, so didn't need different sized holes. So much easier! That said, I have a set of bits that DO have the same shank size as the bit, so I'll be going through that exact exercise before long. I have come to the realization, as you said, pre-measuring and marking and clamping make all the difference, even for shop stuff.

Awesome! You will really enjoy the organization. It’s been great for me.

One of the promoted features of French cleats is the modularity- you can move/adjust for future needs. The larger the module, especially in relation to the size of the parts it carries, the less flexible it becomes. In this particular case, the drill carriers could have been held by slots in the end frames, allowing them to be moved, modified, and added to. A system within a system. Stumpy Nubs built a system like I describe for router bits, but with each item sortable.

Nice storage solution for those pesky drill bits. I think the only suggestion that I could make would be to drill a 1/2 “ or 3/4” deep hole the same diameter as the bit into the bottom support piece for your tall bits to keep them nice and straight instead of letting them just rest on it. Great job!

Maybe not even the same diameter, just relatively close so that they aren't leaning of so much. Not perfect is fine, but I'd want to keep them from encroaching into other bits' space. It would bother me to go for a bit and always have to push another one out of the way.

Oversize some of the holes. That way each hole contains several of that size bit.. Countersink all the holes to make it easier to hit the hole with the tool to be stored.

I like this application, but what do you do if you’re bringing bits out of the shop to work on something away from home? Do you take the drill bits out and put them in their original packaging then replace them when your back home??

Hello, In the video, you mentioned a corner chisel jig that you used to drill the holes for the bits. I looked for a video for that jig but couldn't find anything. What are the dimensions of the jig and what angles did you cut them? Thanks
