I have the ftm400, wouxon kg1000G+ for gmrs right now on my f150 but I want to add the 891 with the ATAS. How often are you on HF? Would be cool to make a radio contact with you.

I dont know if they have one yet for the newest Tundra, but check out Huracan Fab. They're out of Austrailia and make storage compartments that turn your tailgate into a usable space for little things. The lids are flat too like you're wanting.

Wait how do you get to the bin in the bed that's right behind the cab when you have the diamondback on? Especially when you added the cross bars and the FSR tent? Oh at 39:20 you said you can't use that bin at all now and it's not even accessible. Ouch

Thanks for the videos! I'm looking at the Tundra for my next rig. Currently in an '04 ram long bed 5.9, with a cab over that I built back in 2002. Also run a contractor style high top camper shell for a light summer option. Also have a Big Foot roof top tent, haven't used it much, might try it on a custom dog box believe it or not. Anyway 'ol girl's got a few miles on her and I'm going lighter for my next rig. Had a '92 single cab yota back in the day, indestructible! Not sure if I'd be happy with the size and hp in the Tacoma's even though they're super cool! Your Tundra looks great man. I like the daily driver/prep mentality. Front looks nice and tough. I'm with you on the roof rack, I'm ready to start nerding out on comm's...let's get it!!!

I saw your HF portable set up (please make a video on that) but what UHF/VHF are you using inside the vehicle? What handhelds are you using to pair with your truck UHF/VHF radio? Are the uptop bars you have mounted on Yakima tracks on diamondback cover a prototype? Their website is very confusing - they don’t describe any mounting options they have.

@@LastLineOfDefense Thx. I can say my 1794 on 35s with a 3" lift is showing 14 mpg and I tested it manually with fill ups and mileage tracking. The Tundra showed 14.1 and my calculation showed 13.9. So the computer is probably correct. But its amazing to me you get 13-14 with 37s and all that armor and gear. I am pretty much stock apart from a bed cover and cheap side steps lol. I am moving to CO later this summer so maybe I will see better MPGs at elevation?

@fiftyshadesofurban8 ай бұрын
Hey man I have a question and it's really urgent.. I hope you can answer.. My next vehicle has to be one I will keep forever.. coz I can't deal with the resale value going down to the point where I'm underwater forever and not able to trade something in that didn't work out.. Do you think the Tundra can be used as a main Overlanding rig? I've read basically the only con is the size, and that there are some trails it can't go down or it will get destroyed by branches etc. When I'm looking at both, I'm like... The Tundra is my truck.. I love how big it is.. but I don't wanna buy it and then find out I should've gotten a Tacoma.. Esp. Tacoma is cheaper. And also there's like Tacoma beast and everything for the Tacomas but I can't find the same amplitude of stuff for Tundra.
@LastLineOfDefense8 ай бұрын
yeah, really the only con of the tundra is its size. The size might not be an issue, depending on where you live, or what trails you’re trying to do. I would be fine on most of the trails in Colorado, but not all of them. Some of the trails out east are a little tighter, though, so there may be more issues out there. And wide open trails of lot of the west would be fine.

When you say that you work with companies to develop potential products, do you also support the product development monetarily or purely on "influencer" status. I'm having the hardest time to even get the attention of local companies to try and work with me for a product for my vehicle. If it's not a Toyota companies just don't seem to care and it's very frustrating 😕
@LastLineOfDefense8 ай бұрын
I help in a product development, feedback, functional improvents and testing. A company needs to believe they will move enough units of something in order to support the development of that product.
