Yeah if I were another faction I'd be dropping bombs down that hole constantly, just gotta make a waypoint a few Km directly above the pit and you could consistently drop stuff straight down it without even being noticed.

I kinda want to see someone build a large ship underground with a breakaway drilling rig on top of it so when it comes time to launch it just mines up (chucking the stone over the side) as it slowly raises its altitude and once free of the ground the rig gets separated and intentionally disposed of or maybe dropped to the ground with parachutes for later recovery.

SIMPLEST WAY TO FLIP A ROVER!!!! get a bunch of steel plate and make a long leverage arm using light armor frames ( use the physics!) going up and over the up side of the rover using battery frames or refinery frames at the end of the long arm until the rover flips then grind down the frames, easy peasy, sweet and easy! Splitsie demonstrates the concept in one of his early escape from mars episodes when Capac flips his rover if you need some reference, ik its small grid but the concept applies to any grid size if you have enough leverage, cheers!

Damn I've not looked at this game for a while but this is what I hoped multiplayer could be, I played when they (the devs) made official servers after the MP Update and Aaron even had a look at our faction but the limitations on the server regarding number of blocks and such really held it back. Glad to see things have become even more stable and the game more capable of hosting more players and blocks at once!

I've been thinking about the HAL base and how anyone could possibly take them out. Now, I'm not on the server so I can't speak to how viable any plan actually is but here are some quick strategic thoughts. 1. A direct assault will never work. They have far too many turrets and decoys to shoot down any intruder so unless you're willing to risk multiple large ships armed to the teeth you won't get past the front lawn. Even then, the crater itself provides enough cover for them to launch as many ships of their own at once. And judging by the last video, those are some powerful ships. If you need to go this route you'll need multiple factions attacking in perfect coordination. Even then don't expect to win without major losses. 2. A much better route would be to dig. Build a small outpost on the surface just over the horizon and establish a compound underground. From there sneak in enough material to start drilling into their crater. If you can pull this off you can make a big old hole in their side allowing you to attack from multiple fronts. The biggest problem is secrecy. One leak and I imagine HAL would bring down their full thunder on you. But if you could get inside and commence a precision strike against that pipe, you'll cut off the top of the base from the bottom. 3. The nuclear option. So you can't take the uranium for yourself? So why should anyone else have it? The idea behind this plan is to destroy the only thing that makes the mine valuable. Somehow, you bring tons and tons of warheads to the bottom of the mine and destroy any uranium that's left. That means all the uranium anyone has now is all that they'll have for the rest of the server, with a war coming up it may be best to level the playing field rather than grab a costly advantage. It could also be a good last ditch effort on the part of HAL if it ever gets to a point where they can no longer defend it. Detonate the mine and run with anything valuable you have left. Just some thoughts I've been musing over. I have more details but I don't want to post a full comprehensive plan to disrupt the economy on a server I'm not even on. They are called HOW. But yeah, there is a design for a nuclear device that actually would be devastating enough to wipe out the entirety of the HOW base if it hit the bottom of the crater, but that's all I can say >:)

Really? That's a shame. Though it looks like ground deformation is still a thing if a ship rams into it, unless that's also been disabled. If not, just sacrifice a large hunk of metal and ram it into the uranium.

i have a lot of experience with difficult survival situations, i dont use jetpacks on planets (diff character model) and play on realistic. pistons maybe clangs best friend, but they are also mans slightly okay friend. either a piston attached to a flipped vehicle or a small (large grid) piston ship/rover that can be manoeuvred and locked onto the flipped vehicle. pistons are almost always more powerful than groups of gyros/thrusters.

Could you have some sort og build challenge on the server? For example: "build a small ship capable of transporting 5 people" or "make a scout rover" and the winner will be rewarded with rare resourses or something. Have already seen some amazing and jaw dropping designes on the server. Would love to see what kind of designes the community comes up with if they are presented with a challenge. To me it seems the best way to deal with any base thats not inside a mountain , is with tanks . If i had a computer i would have a drop ship that deployed roughly 3 heavily armored tanks . This drop ship would also be armed with some sortve heavy ass cannon with range and it would be escorted by a fast moving fighter craft meant to provide air security for the tanks against other flyers . Once the drop ship deployed the tanks , and the tanks had theyre air cover , the drop ship would move to a decent range and act as a heavy support , it would bust up any defence to stubborn , dangerous , or remote for the tanks to get . So many cool strategies to be utilized , but too few computers and servers that can utilize them

How to get into the pit: Build two chips, connect them together in away they can seperate on command, fly above turret range, and boost straight inside - before impact reverse the thrust and disengage, if you were aiming for uranium, have spiral mining deployment drones in all directions to deploy

Just had an ideia that could work in the game, as planet construction end up being a bit complicated when there is too much, the could try to implement some sort of smaller voxel control as tools for survival mode. I mean, as far as I understand programing it would be possible, even being able to change textures and stuff, of course, lots of floating stuff specially when blown up, however imagine if players could build stuff with voxels, even mining shit like rocks and dirty would have even more uses. And more complex and bigger structures could be buit, obviously with limitations, maybe only where there is planetary gravity and a height limitation. Don't know, just wanted to share this ^^

This first huge blue base ? I don't know rules on your serv but I can't imagine this base would stand longer than a week on some regular full-pvp-allowed server :P For those struggling with rovers flipped. Just build a pole of non-welded armor blocks in a manner that it will counteract against rover mass and this way you can flip it back easily and super cheap way.

For the rover on all that hilly terrain, why doesn't the guy just build a 2-part rover with some sort of rotator in the middle to connect it so that the front and back have some leeway in keeping grip? You could also surround the rotator with an outer shell outside the rover so that it's protected?

Right click while drilling make holes bigger but don't collect ressources. So it's faster to dig like that.
