Waiting for Elon Musk to invent anything at all is just a bad idea. That guy has never invented anything in his life, he just throws money at it and takes the credit.
@moogle68
@moogle68 Ай бұрын
To be fair, he _did_ invent Napster, and had a role in the birth of Paypal, which is how he became rich and started doing what you said. So it's not technically fair to say he is/was _completely_ talentless. Also, the fact that we are even at where we are at right now with the transition to electric cars is easily entirely down to his perseverance with the introduction of Tesla Model S and the Supercharger network. It sucks that all of that turned him into such a shitbag, but credit where credit is due, my friend. No one took electric cars seriously at all until the Model S came out and started shitting on supercars and hypercars for just $80k.

@@thatradiogeek you're right, my bad. However, Elon Musk _did_ start Zip2, and the company that turned into PayPal, and while he didn't start Tesla (I never claimed that he did), he was the one running it while they were getting the Supercharger network setup, as well as when they released and developed the Model S.

@@thatradiogeek again, I never said he started Tesla, but what he did to make the company what it is now was impressive no matter how you look at it. He may not have been the engineer inventing things, but coming up with the plan and putting in the time and effort it took to make Tesla worth billions of dollars in less than a decade is a feat that the Board members of Tesla when it was unknown thought was impossible, but he did it. And for the record, their timeline requirement for him was actually much less than a decade. His success has turned him into a POS, but you can't deny the truth, which is that what he did wasn't easy and deserves to be acknowledged. 🤷🏽

John mentions an important thing about carbon taxes very briefly in this video: the money isn't actually needed for anything, it's purely incentive, and that means the money can be used for anything at all, and we've seen how effective giving people free money can be for improving voter approval.

@omgandwtf1

Republicans have never cared about freedom in any way that actually matters, they care about the freedom for people to own military style weaponry to defend themselves against the government despite how ineffectual and stupid that would be. They care about the freedom of rich people and businesses to make as much money as possible regardless of the cost and their freedom to not pay taxes to the countries that make their business possible.

Can we just talk about that cylindrical Earth image? The background had shooting stars - in space - even though those are caused by small meteorites hitting the atmosphere! And I know what you're thinking: "they must've been comets, though?" Well, no. A comet's tail faces away from the Sun, these were facing away from the direction the object was moving. It's a travesty, and everyone at the LWT graphics department should be ashamed!

I'd love for just one person who's supposedly pro life to support mandatory organ donation when people die and mandatory blood, bone marrow, and liver donation while people are alive as much as they support bans for abortion. After all, the right to life apparently should trump bodily autonomy.
@Uruz2012
@Uruz2012 29 күн бұрын
Pretty sure pro life people usually say that you should use your bodily autonomy to avoid becoming pregnant in the first place. If you're going to argue against something, you generally ought to avoid setting up easy versions of that belief.
@lisahenry20
@lisahenry20 29 күн бұрын
@Uruz2012 I've never seen anyone even try that argument before. The thing is, I could stab you and you could need a blood transfusion, and even if I was the reason you need one, I don't have to donate blood. Yet if I had sex and got pregnant, I can't get an abortion. The differences between the two scenarios are that stabbing someone is illegal while (consensual) sex isn't, and you need two people to get pregnant but only one is forced to give up their bodily autonomy. A couple could have sex, the woman gets pregnant and is unable to get an abortion, the child is born but then needs a kidney transplant, and then the father could refuse to donate one of his compatible kidneys. Because it's not about saving lives, it's about punishing women for being sexually active.

@@Uruz2012and they completely ignore that abortions are also used when the fetus has defects that are incompatible with life (like having no kidneys) or when a woman is having a natural miscarriage, but the body isn't expelling the fetus fast enough (risking sepsis). And when you point to very specific cases of women being denied medical help (abortions) and in some cases even dying, they deny that their deaths have anything to do with these abortion bans and claim that women should just not have sex.
