LaTasha did not get "discovered" until her late teens and it was an uphill climb. No doubt that her, Amy Winehouse, Leela James, Josh Stone, Macy Gray and others were influenced by Etta James, Tina Turner, Betty Wright, Sharon Jones, Janis Joplin, Bonnie Bramlett, Gladys Knight and other gritty, soulful singers. Sure, the comparisons are inevitable if Amy was better known. However, LaTasha has been singing for a long time.
