Why isn't this more popular in modern late period reenactment? What about on military types?

Hello, I hope you get this notifications. I'm interested in starting late antiquity reenactment since my main research field is late antique fortifications such as the Tractus Italiae etc etc and Claustra Alpium etc etc, I'd like to know where you get your beautiful fabric with woven in clavi and if you know where to get a pair of so called "coptic" split toe socks. Many thanks!

Salve William! Good to hear of your interest to delve into living history of late antiquity! I get my handwoven tunic fabrics such as seen in my videos from Sirko Galz, a traditional weaver in Germany. He has a website and he is on Facebook where you can easily contact him. My split toe socks I get from a lady in Poland. She has a page on Facebook, called Kram Bu.

@@quartodecimani6908 Hey thank you! Looking forward to begin late antiquity reenactment. I live in Udine, not far from Aquileia, about two weeks ago I went for a weekend to Ljubljana, I didn't use the highway at the time and after Castra (Ajdovščina) I found ad Pirum (Hrušica). Obviously it is easy to think that most modern day roads follow ancient roads, but I never thought that basically from Aquileia to Emona the road is the same one guarded more than a thousand years ago.

So is the tunic comfortable because I'm growing interested in the history of fashions and I'm trying to define what would be the most fashionable, comfortable, and functional look from all available knowledge.

It is very comfortable and with European summers getting hotter now, it's definitely a fashion to bring back!
