I’m in northern Alberta and last week we had -10C nights and somehow my bees were able to brood up, just checked a dozen or so today and have new bees emerging 😎

I like to split the hives when they get cells, let the original requeen with cells, take origina queenl and brood and make a split or 2 depending on whats available for brood, typically the hive has the most brood when they want to swarm so i can make 2or 3 nice splits. Great videos! Make more!

I think I've said to you this before, but I really appreciate your 'local' points of view. I'm in N. Idaho (just south of Sandpoint). Yours is the only one I've seen for the PNW. I'll be sitting in snow here watching those guys down in the southeast and they are already having bees swarming....your killing me Smalls...lol. Any way, thanks again.

General rule: 3/4 full of bees add another box but sometimes the swarm impulse will persist whether they get more room or not
