I am completely stunned at the matter of fact way abortion is dealt with in these Chines dramas. The characters are mature women not 'hot headed teens', the decision is usually being made by the woman due to financial considerations and if she can cope with looking after a child on her own, usually due to the breakup of a longterm relationship, there is no shame involved, it is usually at a main hospital not a clinic dealing with abusive protesters. It is never the end of the story but part of the character's story.
