When I was 18 I got a underage drinking citation. Well I was too scared to ask for a payment plan when I got fined $537 and they wanted payment that day. I was stupid enough to write a bad check to the courts. Thank god they took forever to process the check because I didn't have the money to cover it. Thank god i had it when it went through 11 days later. Cause I could have been in deep 💩 💩

Id seen my therapist for years, and one thing she was taught at training for advanced therapy was to get something froEn and put head down and lay it across the back of your neck and it'll quickly stop an anxiety or panic attack. She's used it frequently, and she's don't that to me at the end of several appts because I was working thru extensive childhood trauma and would have really bad panic attacks when we was working thru the abuse I went thru. I was skeptical at first, but it really did help!

Had a “day” as well, a lovely member gifted myself and others memberships, this is THE best law channel, and with the best members I’ve seen. Had a day today. I got to work late. Spent 7 hours on hold with our business phone provider. Only to find out that the solution was resetting our router...once the backup battery was removed. It took three months of calling and service visits and the company trying to gaslight us into accepting that it's our phone system at fault, before we got the one service guy in the region who knows how the hardware works. He takes out the battery, resets it. BAM, everything works perfectly. He asked how many power cycles I put it through... At least two a day. If anyone had even told me there was a backup battery, I'd have instantly known it has to come out or the wrong settings would be kept. How many other customers are sitting with half-working services and just accept it? Choice words. I'm a museum curator, this should not be in my "other tasks as assigned."

I try to watch your videos to keep me from being depressed. My youngest son was going through a lot of problems and he had turned to marijuana. I begged him to get help, but he turned to alcohol instead. He would not share with me what was going on, and I will never have the chance to tell him how much I love him. Anyone who thinks marijuana is safe, well, it's not.

Your honor, there may be other ways to treat anxiety, but they don't 1) get me high, and 2) create a vicious cycle where I feel anxious because I'm not feeding my addiction, giving me another reason to get high!

The 18 year old girl needs to get into see an actual physician and a psychologist. She is experiencing real anxiety and panic. Marijuana isn't the answer. She needs to get help to find the root of the anxiety and panic. It is certainly not too late for her. She still has a chance as long as she participates fully in counseling and follows doctors' orders meticulously. I hope she isn't back in court until 6 months pass, and she has done well to be discharged early from probation. God Bless 🥰

Was it a can't find your keys kinda day. Example- now you can't leave early like you wanted too. You can't stop and get that coffee you wanted. And nothing is on time for the rest of the day. Or was it a bad Hair day... Your hair just doesn't look rite, Now you have nothing to wear because you can't find your favorite shirt. You find your shirt but your socks are all gone. You finally get dressed but now you can only find 1 shoe. 😂

I wish these kids would learn that pot only works for so long to ease anxiety. Chronic use will make anxiety much worse over time. Having said that, i wish America would get on board with the rest of the free world and decriminalize it. Id rather 1000 pot charges be ignored if it makes room for 1 pedophile or predator

That last young lady broke my heart. Having had experience with anxiety, it really does make you want to do anything to relieve it. I hope she has a good support system around her that can guide her. Starting marijuana that young to mask the pain of anxiety will not end up good. It's just a bandaid. She needs to be in therapy and figuring out the cause and to learn some skills. Once you do that, it is somewhat empowering. I really hope she turns things around. She has a long life to live.

Especially since weed actually makes psychological issues like anxiety and many others worse. It has some uses for pain relief but like every other legal drug needs consideration. Just like alcohol makes depression worse.

It really depends, there are people who other methods just dont work for. My friend uses it to stop intrusive suicidal ideation after being in therapy and meds from the age of 15!

Imagine if I was able to use the "I have anxiety " angle when I smoked weed in high school. They'd laugh me out of the room. MOST people smoke weed because they want to get high. Period.

I have anxiety. It was brought on by trauma, and in a moment, I found myself a completely different person. I don't smoke pot for my anxiety, but I did waste several years of my life taking ridiculous amounts of prescribed medication for it. 2 lessons I learned: 1. Once you're having a panic attack, you ARE having a panic attack. It doesn't matter how logically you try to think about it. One of part of your brain knows you aren't dying, but the other part is screaming that you can't breathe and death is imminent. Good luck overcoming the latter. 2. The brain was never intended to be suppressed. That's what all of those meds and pot do. In the short term, they can give you enough space to sort out what causes your anxiety so that you can learn to manage it. They do not fix it. You're just pushing down that fight or flight, but that is not a message your brain is willing to silence. It just gets worse and worse, and you have to take more meds, and it still gets worse, and those meds leave you completely unequipped to handle it. I am not a doctor. You do not have to agree with me, but anxiety is all about the LOSS of control. Take just a little of that control back, and your anxiety will lessen. Take your own car to parties so that you can leave if you get anxious. Knowing it's there will almost always be enough to stave off the anxiety. Build your hedges against the night.

I believe I’m not in this generation of anxiety ridden girls in the chat’s comment. In my case it’s heredity. My mother was the born in the Greatest Generation, my father was born in the Silent Generation and I’m a Boomer. Anxiety hits all ages and can be devastating.

"Why do we have a whole generation of anxiety ridden girls?" ... it ain't nothin new & it ain't just girls. Now that I've been diagnosed with anxiety & depression, learned a whole lot more about it, used a little bit of medication combined with working on myself... I can trace it back through the family. There's a lot of men in the mix. Also, some might say I have my dad's short temper. Others might recognize it for what it really is... anxiety. My anxiety attacks don't manifest as shaking, crying, can't breathe, etc. It typically looks like I'm pissed tf off, often over stupid little things. I had no idea the way my brain worked wasn't "normal" until my late 20's. && if you ask my dad if he has anxiety, his answer is a hard no. I see some very similar traits in his mom too. On the other side I've got a great grandpa that committed himself to a mental institution for a short stay when he had a "another mental breakdown". No one ever talked about that though. His own daughters didn't even know until some time after he passed away. They were teenagers when that happened. You didn't talk about mental health just a decade or two ago. Do some things about our lives in this era likely make things like anxiety worse in groups of people? Almost certainly. But it's most def, not something new or far more widespread than in recent history.

An important part of being a judge is ensuring you uphold the sanctity of the courtroom, which includes enforcing the dress code. Do I think it is silly? Sure. But do I understand that they don't want people feeling comfortable showing up to serious cases where the victims family may be present? Yes. So where does one draw the line? I see people show up in whatever for traffic court. Thats fine. But once you're facing jail time and intermingled with people who are facing murder charges, assaults, etc where victims are seeking justice, raising the expectation is more understandable. I understand wanting to ensure that courtroom maintains its sense of solemn.

Hmmm..Maybe all this Smoking of Marijuana is the CAUSE of all this PTSD/Anxiety/Stress/etc. You know the 'Paranoia Feeling' one can get from smoking marijuana. I know I (and many others) are sick and tired of people blaming their problems on some emotional/mental thing going on in their lives.
