Thanks to you and your beautiful garden, I have been buying through mail order lots of hostas and heucheras this year. I probably won't live long enough to see them get as big as yours, but I will enjoy seeing them grow as much as possible. I made name labels for mine since I know I won't remember them like you do. You amaze me!! Have a great weekend!!
@judymckerrow67206 ай бұрын
Just keep them watered well, the hosta. I heard from a hosta grow what he does to his hosta, every two weeks he gives them tomato fertilizer, if your up to doing that every two weeks that may help them grow faster/ better for you. I’m going start trying to do that to my hosta and see how that works. I’m a little behind because I’m trying to get plants that I ordered in the ground and out of their cans. I’m almost done so I’m going to try and concentrate on fertilizing the hosta. It’s still early in the season so I figure I have nothing to loose. Good luck ! He also recommended putting milogranite when they first start emerging from the ground but that may not be something most people would want to do. I did though. Again good luck and happy growing ! 💐💚🙃

Jes!!!! THANK YOU so much for the wonderful tour!! Your gardens are sooo beautiful. My neighbors came over to my back yard day before yesterday I wanted them to take a look at a barely-hanging-on branch of theirs that is hanging over my side of the fence and in an area I’m trying to develop as a nice quiet seating area. I snagged 2 Adirondack chairs on Fb market place for $100.. I thought it was a good deal, they are well made from wood and sturdy- but anyway, the wife was like “oh can I go over there and look” pointing to my shade garden that YOU inspired me to develop, & I said “heck yes! Come on!!” And we walked over there and I immediately started talking about you and your gully garden and your YT channel and I got super excited! You got allllll the credit! So, hopefully you’ll have a new subscriber! 😁 Everything looks so good Jes. So good! Have you tried spraying your impatiens with Liquid Fence? It seemed to help a bit for me last year. Also, you could put a cheap cloche (dollar tree has little black wire garbage cans I use by turning them upside down) on your impatiens in your pot? That might help also.. 🤷🏼♀️ worth a try maybe. Tell Nate that his grass is 🤌🏼🤌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼👍🏼👍🏼 looking real good this year! I saw those stripes! It’s time to limb up the river burches again a little bit, huh? I want to plant one and the dappled willow, need that for sure, and a aralia sun king, & some lambs ear, & all the things! lol.. I picked up a glow blue juniper to put in the spot where I planted a Colorado blue spruce because I need to move it. Right plant, wrong spot. Thank you again for the tour, headed into work and you brought a sense of peace and happiness to my heart before work so that is very beneficial! lol, thank you! 😊♥️

Your garden is gorgeous. The good about bunnies is their droppings make great fertilizer!! Try this spray for plants rabbits & deer eat. 5 cups water 2 tablespoons cayenne pepper 2 tablespoons garlic powder 1 teaspoon of dish soap Supposedly they hate the taste & smell. Save the impatiens & zinnias. I put dry cayenne on bird seed & squirrels quit raiding my feeder. Birds can't taste the pepper. Win..win. PS-pizza delivery gives free pepper & garlic powder away.

Hey Sweet Jes...thank you for the beautiful garden tour. I have an idea...you could place some pretty wire cloches in your pots where the bunnies keep feasting on your inpatients. I think at some point the bunnies will hop along to different spots as the season moves on and then you could potentially remove the cloches. I like the look of them in pots. You have some beautiful plants that are new to me...the yellow ones that close at night are neat...are they called evening primrose by any chance?...Thanks so much for sharing...I look so forward to your videos/ movies!!!💗💗💗

Jess, I love, love, love your garden ☺️ YOU are an amazing gardener!! Creating and designing that space from scratch!! Which I know has been a TON of work. Our gardens are all our own and unique and yours is beautiful ❤ I wish I had more space to grow my garden (I’m working on it 😜 ) But, I did go from one variety of hosta (so sweet) …. which was shared from my father-in-laws home to our home when purchased 27 years ago now and after watching your “movies” 😊 I now have seven varieties!! 😀 … All put in this year. I love seeing how large your varieties grow as well. It’s truly helpful to see them at a mature size. I also am love how you are naming the different areas 😊 You have great ideas ❤️

I have quite the hosta collection too…quite addictive 😊 you added a few more ‘must haves’ I keep trying with the hucheras but have trouble with moles and voles eating the root balls. 2 beautiful plants to consider for your collection is a Sting Hosta and a Cutie Pie Huechera. They pair nicely together. The Cutie Pie is lime green foilage that get a pretty berry color plumes. Your Hostas look so much better than mine. I have 3 golden doodles and almost all my Hostas in the centers are flat because my doodles love to lay in them. They come back every year and I just keep dividing them just in case. The area you said you wanted to add purple, I could picture Spilled Wine Wigelia by PW where your Flag is(28:10) It’s been fun watching your garden develop and just listen to you chat😊

Your garden is beautiful! Very peaceful. The birds singing happy tunes! I know there are lots of different ideas about diverting animals from the garden, but I was told along time ago about using a fertilizer called dried blood to help keep rabbits and other vegetarian type critters from eating my plants!😊. Just sprinkle it around the plants you want them to stay away from. You have to replace it once it rains. Good for the plant too!

Because of your videos, I planted 4 hydrangeas in my zone 8. I planted in brand new garden soil that smelled heavily composted. I watered it heavy and then left town for 3 weeks. It rained almost daily & a friend came & still watered more. Upon my return the blooms had gone from pink to a weird greenish blue and were laying down. Some stems were black like root rot & I got sad. But...now they have suddenly added dozens of new leaf growth and signs of taking root & going to survive. Plants can amaze us. Keep filming. Tell Jocelyn we miss her seedling update videos.
