Late Diagnosis of Sickle Cell | Day 13 NASCO |

Government spends huge amount of money and efforts in screening Sickle Cell disease. What should be the measure of success? Late diagnosis or no diagnosis is very common. Once a while in a campaign mode screening programs are conducted is that sufficient ? At the age of 38 a women in Madhya Pradesh gets diagnosed that too from a ICMR supported pilot project led by Dr Sridevi . we need more such community based approach where front line health workers are trained to continue screening at their locations.
