This is only my second full length video so I'm still learning. I don't have any sort of microphone and I'm just recording with my phone. If you guys have suggestions for how to improve, let me know. Thanks!

I didnt know that mushrooms can survive in snow/winter! I assumed they would all freeze and fall off or just dry out. Great work for your second long video!!

Late fall oyster(Sarcomyxa serotina) is the only lookalike for oysters. They’re edible, just a little bitter if not stewed long enough. For this distinction look for yellow gills, caramel brown to greenish cap. There’s also the peeling oysterling but the “foot” is longer so I don’t make the same observation

Great video! I have two questions after watching: can these be found in the Midwest? I live in Michigan and have always wanted to start hunting for edible mushrooms. And at what point do we stop seeing these being available - a certain temperature or time of the year? Thanks!
@MycoVaultАй бұрын
Thank you! Yes, these can be found growing all throughout Michigan. Once you hit freezing Temps, it's not likely you are going to see these growing fresh. However, they can grow all throughout the Winter months, especially at times where it might warm up a bit into the 40's. They can grow in pretty cold Temps.
