When a movie or TV episode is no longer shown and there are no available copies of it to view, it is considered "lost media". For instance, some TV studios would actually re-use the video tapes of previous episodes by taping over them. Sometimes, after many years of searching, lost media is recovered when someone finds a copy or the rights to release it are provided.

Ever since Norm Macdonald died I've been binge watching his interviews on talk shows from time to time, especially before I go to bed. A couple days ago I had the weirdest nightmare. I saw Norm's appearance on Late Night with Conan, it was somewhere in the mid 90's, when he was still on SNL. And he's telling some weird story in his usual, goofy way, and Conan is laughing along... except the story he's telling is some horrible, twisted and deeply disturbing thing, but he's smiling mischievously throughout, with that gleam in his eye. I only remember bits of it, and it didn't make much sense in retrospect, but at the time it was very eerie and seemed like something straight out of hell. There was no audience to be heard, only dead silence and an ominous humming noice, but Conan and Norm acted as if there was an audience and commented on the audience's reactions, which I couldn't hear. Everything was darker - the lighting was a bit like on Eric Andre's show. And the speech I heard was weirdly distorted or jumbled - not from technical glitches or anything, but just from this usual "dream distortion" you get sometimes - like I couldn't make out some words, others were nonsense words made up from seemingly random speech-sounds. There wasn't a coherent narrative throughout the dream and it didn't make much sense, but it looked and sounded awful, horrifying and hellish. Now I googled "late night talk show horror" inspired by that horrible dream and this thing came up.
