Late November Rut Strategy

I had an awesome buck on camera at 12:45 on public big woods forest. Got the same deer again 6 hours later (dark) on another camera 1/4 mile away. They cruise all day and night looking. If you can get out Wednesday, Thursday or Friday do it. The woods settle a bit after getting smashed on weekends.

What about upstate new York in the six week rifle zone most of the bucks got shot or baited in the giants ar all nocturnal for rest of season I find states that have longer bow hunting ther more predictable

I hunt northern wisconsin big woods. No real farming. Nice to compare notes. I agree with what you say. Been watching several of your videos. retired now. Had to hunt only few days around long weekends thru fall. Anyway i wonder in this late period if you see any difference in morning, mid day or evening movement?? Dad likes morning. I lke evening. Mid day seems quit random.

I'm hunting ag land in NW Ohio. I'm sitting in a fence row leading into a small plot of woods where the deer bed. I've had a lot of chasing this week. This has been our best week as far as seeing bucks.

I'm in the process of collecting my cameras right now. The gun bear season starts next weekend and Gun deer season just after that. I don't trust that they'll be where I put them if I don't collect them before the orange army descends upon our mountains. But, last year, I did see a buck harassing does in a funnel area on the 19th exactly. A few years ago on the first weekend of our gun season there was a buck chasing a doe in the thicket next to me. He was shot the next morning still dogging her. I think that would have been November 29th. It was either a doe that was missed the first go around or a young doe just coming in the first time.

Looking forward to those dates. Cold front will help. Will be interesting to see how our cameras play out. Daughter and future son in law got their first bucks on the Michigan opener. Warm so we had to get home. My time to hunt now.

Grunted in a buck at 1 pm today Sunday November 17 th in northern Minnesota. Dropped him in his tracks. Most trail cameras I have out showed all night action lately.
