Very nice! They’re going to love the outdoors, especially when it gets really warm and humid out. I’m not as brave as you, I’m still waiting for more consistent warm Midwest temps before I put mine orchids outdoors

Hehehehe l am so bad... I know it'll probably get cold at some point, I usually wait till the end of May, into early June but boy oh boy!!!! It has been brutal! I don't think they can survive my neglect without harm😂. So out they go!

@@OrchidMarcus l saw the 60s/40s next week 🤣. I'm going to stick my head in the proverbial sand as just hope they are ok 🤣. They survived upper 30s-40s in the greenhouse basically when my son turned the heater off!

Love the pink trailing rose! I’m sure the orchids will bounce back after getting some good rain water.

Yeah! This pink climber is insanely fragrant too! It looks deceptively wide because it is right next to a pale pink wild rambler ( labelled The Fairy" but l think it was mislabelled 🤣

beautiful garden😀We get hardy roses here in Holland, I think they can survive brief spells at 5 degF, how cold are your Winters?

Hey there! Mmm winters have been a bit brutal lately. Too many days in the negatives. Last one we went as low as -10 f ( -23? Celsius?). Because they are potted they are less hardy since the roots are basically unprotected. They made it safely through winter in my sunroom. And then l put them outside when they started to lead out and then suddenly.. one by one... Shrivelled and went black and started to die. Weirdest thing ever! I peaked at the base of the bushes and each one had an odd white growth .... I don't know what happened!

Question: Do you not take your Plumeria insideduing the winter? What is th coldest your area gets?
@Misslou24256 ай бұрын
Yes. The plumeria come inside at the end of October and go back out by may/ end of May. Winters here go to -5 degrees to 0 degrees F ( wind-chill at -15 sometimes lower !) On average the lows at the coldest are single digit fahrenheit. This is zone 6 Ohio.

@Misslou2425 Thank you.😊 I purchased a plumeria last year. We definitely need to bring our plants inside during the winter. I am in New Mexico near Albuquerque in Zone 7a, but we get extreme winds, so our windchill can be almost -20°. I did have it outside here for some time during the summer, but it ended up with spider mites. I've never had spider mites on my indoor plants, so I'm not sure if I will put it outside this year. It is still fairly young and small and I'm afraid of losing it.

@@sheiselwilliams1 Ah! Yes! At those temps for sure wintering indoors is needed. One thing.. depending on the type of plumeria you got, it will take a whole lot longer to flower if you keep it indoors long term. I bought the "dwarf variety* and my smallest one which stands only about 9-10 inches above the soil line... Flowers all summer into winter! It will need that outside time for sure. Plumeria are very prone to spider mites. I use a product called BrandX . It is a liquid concentrate. More natural. And l spray it down all the time and it keeps all the spider mites away. Not sure why the mites love these plants, but they'll require something to control mites ALL the time, unfortunately. Thanks for watching ❤️

@Misslou2425 Thank you so much for the information. Its very good to know that they are a favorite of spider mites. Mine is a Plumeria Rubra var. Brea/Anaheim Sunset. I don't believe that it is a dwarf variety. It is already 24 inches and has not branched or bloomed yet. I purchased Captain Jack's Dead Bug Brew when I discovered the spider mites last year, and it worked very well for me. I will spray it as a preventative before I put it outside this month. Then, I will keep an eye out for any mites and use Earth's Ally 3 in 1 organic spray if needed. I like it because it's pet, bird and pollinator safe.
