Wow that hand blown chandelier was spectacular. I cannot remember where I have seen other pieces of Chihuly 's work but his talent is amazing. Ant the gardens themselves... no words. The absolute beauty and intricacy of those masks...wow! Saw the trolley started looking for everybody's long ago friend, Mr. Rogers...lol Definitely will check them out someday soon. Oh that brings back memories, my grandma and great-grand lived there as well, had those push button switches. What a joyous trip you are having! Its a tossup between Chicago's botanic gardens nd the Art institute her, maybe you 'll get to see both while you are here. I am over the moon about this vlog, Kaye! Please keep them coming!

Looks you had a great day with your friends. I didn't see you buy and plants or seeds at the show. Another exciting video Kaye.

I bought those veggies and calendula and four flower plants. I meant to take a photo of them at least sitting in the garden, but by the time I got there I just had time to squeeze in a promised photo shoot (Laurie is appearing on a show called "Outsiders" filming in Pittsburgh and needed a new photo, also, I wanted to photo the family again after such a long time, then, his relatives with kids showed up, then we ran off to the play, just no time to plant!) Thanks Patrick!! Are you still feeling the positive effects from the weekend spa?

I am downloading it now, but I already know it will be a great video. Now, I just watched the video. Kaye, I didn't know you ate Miso soup, we could have served you some when you were here! Great video as you continue your journey! OAG

Cool towel rake. Strange light switch. Glad you could eat it all - Go Kaye! Glass is so stunning in a garden ( saw a Chully (sp) show at the Dallas Arboritium) Hope you got taken care of with the deer tick. Maybe a little prophylactic doxycycline? No bulls eye rash?(symptom of lyme's disease). Ticks are scary critters if you ask me. I now make sure my dog swims in the little lake and I brush her after every walk in the park to make sure we don't pick up any ticks or poison ivy! Especially after I found a tick on the back of my neck and have endured a few spells of poison ivy!And I am surprised to realize that as I get older, I prefer the haphazardness of Sharon's garden to structured botanical gardens (minus the ticks).

Snakes, ticks, mountain lions, yep, I don't want to deal with them. I got on the doxy that night. No bull's eye. I know the haphazardness is very appealing (minus the ticks). Thanks for watching!!

I know this is about flowers and vegetables. But, if I can be vain for a minute I'd like to say one thing. If my hair was gray like your friends I would never think of coloring it. But, sadly, IT'S NOT. Every time the roots show up I run....to my niece to fix me up. LOL Your friend has lovely natural hair. Mine is the same length but, it would look like an ash tray, or worse, if I didn't do something to it. LOVED the art glass!! AMAZING!!

The glass art is amazing. They had a big exhibition when it opened or something and many donors bought pieces for the conservatory to keep permanently. I'm sorry I didn't get a better shot of that yellow chandelier in the dome. Didn't even notice it till I saw it quickly on my video clip. Yes, Laurie is beautiful, inside and out. She is playing an Elder on "Outsiders." I think you will see more of her in Season 2. Thanks for watching!! Please share. Have to find a wider audience for the Vlog to keep it going. Thanks!

WOW, does Randy Korvitz perform in movies?

I'm sure you can find out by checking his IMDB.com. Spelled "Kovitz". I know living in Pittsburgh an actor's life revolves around theatre, and he teaches as well, but look and see!

This is a wonderful event. I went in 2015 and bought Cosmos from Shadyside Nursery for $1 a plant. I enjoyed them so much as was so inspired that I started plants from seed myself. It is more pleasant to observe germination. This year 2016 I planted Cosmos seeds from Johnnyseeds.com in June and the Cosmos grew into tree-like stalks, really thick? September 29th my neighbor walked by and noticed the buds on it! October 13th it finally bloomed. I've read this is bc the nitrogen drops as the temperature drops and allows the Cosmos to bloom. I plant cover crops and the radish from fall 2015 was too high to allow the Cosmos to bloom. I have lots of Cosmos at my driveway and this has been a real education. I planted more radish in this area this year but I will now know the effects of nitrogen on Cosmos and can plan accordingly.

That is an education for me, too, I have not had Cosmos since the first year, and wish they would come back, so beautiful. Maybe there is too much nitrogen from my wood chips!
