Hey hey hey everybody! Here's the next episode of Scales & Tales with yet another scale workout, this time centering around the common/useful major scale (a.k.a. Ionian mode). As mentioned in yesterday's lesson, I decided to make this a "scale workout weekend" and judging by the feedback/comments the first two episodes received, I'm really glad I decided to create this short-run workout series this weekend, so let's dive into the final installment in this series.
This lesson revolves around the key/tonality of Bb Major and borrows a distinct sequencing movement from the legendary classical composer J.S. Bach for the melodic motif we're applying to this scale. The sequence itself cleverly reveals three minor triads hiding within the three-note-per-string Bb major scale fingering, and these three triads are utilized throughout the melodic and challenging technique-boosting workout shared in this lesson.
If you've been following the lesson series we've been hitting this weekend, then go ahead and dive into the next installment, as this episode will surely kick things up another notch and challenge your frethand and picking chops even further. Give this episode a view, leave some comments/feedback, and please subscribe to Late Night Lessons - THANK YOU!
