What a strange coincidence - my wife and I also lost our rabbit, Frederick, yesterday, who was also about 10 years old, for very similar reasons. We’re both just in an awful state of mourning, but somehow watching Amy Sedaris talk about her own grief with her trademark levity feels therapeutic. I’m sorry for your loss, Amy. Maybe somewhere your guy Tina and our Frederick are grooming each other and making bunny thunder down the hallways together. ❤

I had a guinea pig that was one of my best pets. He was from a special education class and had one eye poked out by a pencil. He was also dropped in the classroom and had seizures. I got him after that and he would sit in my arms while I was on the desktop and we would sing together. Whenever I saw him having a seizure I would pet him and sing our song and the seizure would subside. Near the end I knew he was staying alive because he did not want to leave me. I still miss Cal and he rest in my pet Semetary near the cats Olly and Jack. Song was Salt N Pepa "Push It." with modified lyrics such as Oh piggy piggy, p p p Piggy.

People seem to think rabbits aren’t in the same category as cats or dogs because they tend to live for less ..or that gerbils or hamsters aren’t in the same category as something that lives less a shorter time than that. If you love a little being it didn’t matter if they’re fluffy, feathery, scaly or they last a minute or a hundred years. It’s awful. Bless her.

I inherited my pals rabbit, Stew,(yes, as in Rabbit Stew), when she went off to cooking school in New York. He was a sweet guy, but he terrorized my cat as he never understood the prey predator things. I have never given up a pet before, nor since, but I felt so sad for my poor cat hope absolutely no peace because of Stew. My friends son had a bunny that had died, so Stew got a new home and young boy companion. It worked out great. That boy sent me Beatrice Potter cards from Stew every year until he passed at 16! A very long life for a rabbit. 🌺🌻🌼Tina🌼🌻🌺

Rabbits are the best animals in the world. I have known the loss of a bunny or two in my rabbit slave days. They will take over your life but in a good way. Be sure though if you are going to get one, learn all you can before bringing them home, you must learn the bunny ways to have a healthy happy house bunny. DO NOT STICK THEM IN A HUTCH OUTSIDE, YOU MONSTER.
