I've been spending years (as a hobby in my free time, not really studying in depth) trying to gain better insight into Bayesian reasoning. Dirichlet distributions and similar topics tend to come up but they are so *loaded* with overly-abstract explanations and overly-formal proofs and such that it is a rare that I actually gain much insight from them. So, just want to say that I really appreciated your use of everyday life and human intuition to explain stuff in this video. I just subscribed to your channel based on this video (and some other vids too, but mainly this one), in the hopes you may continue with topics like this and providing your intuitive examples and such in the future. Thanks a lot, and looking forward to your next vids. 😎👍 P.S.: For a future 'foundational' topic, may I suggest/request the Beta distribution (Dirichlet is like a multi-dimensional extension of the Beta, AFAIUI), and also the Gamma distribution. Indeed, one of the questions that has been bugging me for ages is how on Earth one can write one's own Beta/Gamma/Dirichlet distribution functions that are both accurate and half-decently efficient (not super-efficient, just 'good enough'). And this seems to involve having a working Gamma function (function not distribution), which I'd also like to know how one could write one's own. All the stuff I've read on the Gamma function either a) doesn't explain how to actually implement the function (just theoretical stuff like reflection formulas or whatever), or b) just shows an unintuitive version with all sorts of optimization tricks but without providing understanding. I need something in the middle, with both conceptual and practical together.
