Hi Mike and thank you for your review! I just read it and did my own review, so I`m jumping from channel to channel to see what others thought of Later. It is so interesting to see that we all have read the same book and have so many thoughts and feelings that are exactly the same, while each and every one of us still emphasize different things that they were mostly attracted to or see the same book totally differently! I enjoyed the book and liked that truth-crazy-bomb. I needed to think about it for some time though :D

I didn't even know there was a new Stephen King book before I saw you with it on instagram. And like you, I am not the greatest fan of the crime/mystery books by King. But I got the audiobook immediately (physical copy to come later). But it was interesting from the gun and when the Ritual of Chüd was mentioned, I literally sat up and was all 'NOW you have my full and undivided attention.' Loved the book, even though it was so short and I wanted mooooore.

Real page turner! Loved it. I was a bit disapointed by the ending, but the read is so much worth it! I agree with you on The Institute too. I was really surprised that I prefered Later to The Institute. I'm currently reading Under the Dome and I'm pretty excited about it so far (I only read about 1/5 of it though).

This book SURPRISED ME TOO! I hate to admit that yeah, I had pretty low expectations as I ALSO thought it was another Colorado Kid! I just loved this one so gd much. I finished it with my mouth left hanging open and then went and got the audiobook. I've now enjoyed this story at least 4 times through already. It's so.damn.good. I liked it even more than The Institute, which surprised me! The shortish lenth is right in King's sweet spot - would it be considered a novella? I have no clue but man, so amazing.

I saw an ad for this book while browsing the web. I don't even read books (because I have bad eyes), but I really like hearing people talk about Stephen King because he's just super interesting. Like, my Mom used to read Stephen King when she was younger. She would tell me how good his writing is. I mean she still reads him today, but just not his horror novels because she doesn't want to be scared. She liked the one he wrote about Bobby Kennedy. Whatever that one was called. I like a lot of the movies they make out of his material. It is cool to see him usually always be so positive about the adaptations and fully encourage them to turn his work into movies. I like to watch the interviews he does and the speeches he occasionally gives at places. He's just one of those people I really admire.

Joyland was also a great book! I kind of feel like I did then after just finishing Later. Colorado Kid wasn't bad, but not to the level of Later and Joyland.

The tone was amazing, Jamie and Liz and Tia all really developed into characters that had amazing depth throughout. It was really a phenomenal read and I really enjoyed it!

Bought this one following Billy Summers and loved it as well. Quick read, jumps right into the plot and theres no time wasted. I enjoyed the character building and meat of Billy Summers more than "Later" personally. Im devouring these right now and looking for more! Half way through "Salems Lot" (Mike I appreciate the nod on that one regardless of being a new king reader). Any suggestions for next up?! Love the content Mike!

I loved LATER. Yes, first-time SK readers would like it. I recently read The Catcher In The Rye and it has that coming of age first-person vibe. Hey, I thought the book had some hard case crime moments. Six Sense meets The Body? Sure.

Reading this title now, as enjoyable as another of his HCC original, “Joyland”. Less originally creative a writer than most readers credit him for (“The Stand” was inspired by George R. Stewart’s “Earth Abides” [1949], “11/22/63” is an homage to Jack Finney’s “Time and Again” [1970], “The Shining” comes from Richard Matheson’s “Hell House” and “Salems Lot” from “The Last Man on Earth”, etc.). But no one can deny that he is a helluva storyteller and and has perfected the art of smooth narrative flow. His “The Green Mile” is still one of the greatest novels I’ve ever read.
