Wow, just notice this instruction vedio, it is of great quality. I am a junior structural engineer migrant live in Australia, I havent found many useful instructive vedio toward conceptual calculation on KZbin until I watched this one, which is very clear to illustrate some confusions such as restraint types. It helps a lot thanks mate, hope you can keep updating. 😃

I'm glad the video was helpful. These videos take a lot of time to put together, so it is always motivating when someone finds them useful.

hi, Please advise me what is the concept of buckling length. if I am using UC 203-203X46 Kg/m, with a length of 5000 mm resting on 225 mm brick wall under M.S steel plate OR concrete pad. I understand that in my case Effective length buckling length is = 1.2L+2D= (1.2x5+2x0.203)) = 6.406 m. Please confirm? Thanks

Your effective length will be a function of your end connection restraint and whether it resists both lateral movement and twist (kt factor) and the load height factor (kl). So your question about the effective length is related directly to what your end connection looks like as well as if you have any other members framing into your 5m long beam which could provide restraint. It is hard to say if your calculation of effective length is correct without knowing more about your framing configuration and beam connections
