While some concerns are understandable I think we all need to relax a bit and enjoy whatever the ride is giving us. As Angelina told the music industry is difficult but at the same time she also told us to trust the process. It's only her 3rd concert in the US having success in the previous two. With the caliber of artist that she is and of her songs (Old Enough EP/BV) I have no doubt that she will going to be well known the soonest time. It's just a matter of breaking it through with that one song or collab on the right time and situation. In fact in my opinion she's in better position to enter the main scene compared to some of her contemporary artists... Everything is set for her just waiting for her one perfect moment.

For those concerned about the number of attendees at Angelina's concerts, here's some comparisons that might ease your mind. Amy Winehouse first concerts in the US were small venues with 500 to 700 seat capacity. Adeles' first concerts in the US ranged from 200 to 700 seat capacity. Also, they already had a successful album release prior to their US tour. Personally, I think she has done amazingly well, considering she is still relatively unknown and the short notice given and the very limited promotion.

@@marks4177 yeh sure but those were different times before social media was big, many singers now have millions of fans before their first concert, comparing them is like apples and oranges.i am just speaking from my own experience, with more notice probably would have went to the last 2 of her concert venues. As well as the upcoming one, was just saying i am sure others are in the same boat and disappointed of being unable to make going work!

@marks4177 That’s a very good point. They are only selling the lower level of the Alex Theater which is a little less than 700 seats. It’s all about perception. If the venue chosen had only 400-500 capacity then she would be doing very well considering the short notice. The place would look packed. Prior to Portsmouth, I was monitoring tickets sales not only of Angelina but of the artists playing there around the same time. Angelina was actually doing very well. Better than most of the orher artists.except of course renowned cellist Yo Yo Ma who sold out. Some artists had sold less than half, even by show date. As of now a little more than half the seats have been sold. If somehow they can sell close to 100 more in the last week that would be pretty good. Being Southern California maybe some celebrities can decide to come and bring their friends.

@darenbyers4291 I used Amy and Adele because they were both similar in talent and performance styles to Angelina. A more recent comparison, although they are both very different to Angelina, is Sabrina Carpenter and Chappel Roan. As recently as 2022, their concerts were held in venues with capacities around 500. Both of them had a relatively large following in comparison to Angelina on both the streaming platforms and social media. I agree that the short notice is problematic for some who, if given more time, might be able to attend.

Artists like Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo and many others had the additional help of being on Disney Channel and Nickelodeon shows which gained them a following and a lot of exposure before they really even concentrated on their music career.. Some of these artists are or were older than Angelina before their music careers really took off. Angelina hasn’t had that kind of sustained exposure.

From an outside view, the US always seems to be hit much more from recessions than european countries would be used to. But we're seeing shrinking demand for music festivals here as well. Its probably a bad time to do concerts in the US now with everyone beeing wary of beeing let go and hence tightening their budget.

We all feel bad about slow ticket sales, but for what ever reason doesnt seem to be enough planning, to give decent concert notice. With the lg percentage of Angelina's fans being spread around the world. Many would surely attend if they had time organize attending in advance. Some may work,flights, other responsibilities just cant be cancelled and planned in 5 or 6 weeks.

Short notice is definitely an issue. Most ppl with a normal job would have to lock in most of their vacation time at the start of the year. Its good its on a friday at least, but flying over from europe its still safer to add some days of buffer for weather delays etc. I'm wondering if they get a better deal on renting the venue when using open slots on short notice?

Short notice can even make it difficult for locals. I live in the LA area, in fact I work in Glendale. My wife and I can make it but I know a few people that would like to have gone but already had other plans.

There is some movement in ticket sales now. Whole rows further in the back are sold out from one day to the other. And the center section is almost sold out.

I also thought her Label, Universal/Republic Music Group would be more involved in her Promotion to recover expenses over the past four years. I also had hoped she would be releasing, not a single, but a Full Album of Original Music and that she would be singing original songs from her new album. Looks like I missed the target by a mile, LOL. Maybe her Label will plan something big for when her New Album by Republic Records will be released and Promoted Properly. Maybe Bad Valentine is more of a Toby Gad Productions than a Republican Records Release.

From what we have learned recently, Bad Valentine, along with the other 7 songs she worked on with Toby 1-1/2 to 2 years ago, were apparently recorded for Republic but for some reason were not released. Bad Valentine is now being released under Kite Records, Toby’s label, who must have bought the rights to the recording.

Appearently Angie expected an album release and a subsequent promo tour. Was the tour money allowance tied to the album release maybe? The only thing we know for sure is, we've seen neither of the two materialize. No album and no concerts. And the studios doing mass lay offs which indicates that budgets have dried off big time above the board. Some have joked, RR is content to have Toby do the hard work to give her coverage for now which costs them nothing.

I think a tour would have been a little ambitious at this point unless they were very small venues and if they were small venues would the expense of such a tour make sense. Realistically I don’t think a tour would happen for a few years until they know she has the following and notoriety that would make it work.

I think her handlers are missing more than a few opportunities. I’m also concerned about attendance of these concerts, there doesn’t seem to be much at all in the way of promotion. Again handling, idk. I’m still surprised that the other concerts have not been professional recorded, and released or put up for sale. I’m hoping we’re not seeing a Colonel Tom Parker kind of a thing with republic records. Although I have no doubts about this phenomenal young lady’s talent, not only on par with Elvis, but surpasses him.

Doesn’t have to sold, some of it could be on the official website. It’s a different world. There are many snippets from attendees smart phones that show her amazing talent, could you imagine a nice clean, audio, and video of our princess?

I think the ticket prices are high for a singer who has her level of fame. I recently saw Pentatonix for much less. I can see Billie Eilish locally for a similar price. I bought a ticket to see Angelina but I am of modest means and the price puts a strain on my budget. I figure by the time I get another chance to see her she will command a price two or three times as much.

Billie eilish performs in venues seating 10- 20,000. The Alex theater seats 1500 or so. Doubt if you will get a seat as close to stage at a Eilish concert for less than what AJ's prices are

@@nicknavc5 True enough, but when you don't have a lot of money the minimum cost of admission is important. There are other artists I've seen who have higher visibility than Angelina for similar seats for similar or lower prices such as Lauren Daigle. Regardless my main point is that for a lot of fans, these seats are expensive, especially if they are trying to bring their whole family. I honestly don't know what would be considered fair in today's market, all the prices are more than double, even adjusted for inflation than when I was younger and went to more concerts. I don't think it would be possible for today's college students to go to a couple of concerts a month like I did in the 80s.

What are her ticket prices?, I remember Vegas some 3-4 years ago was 275$ a seat?, the other Norwegian Aurora cost me 300 Bucks for 2 VIP Tickets, and that is a 6300 seat indoor venue, the 275 figure was not VIP, Republic puts little to no Money into Promoting AJ for that cost.

@BigAngieFan808 I think 75% would be good. I noticed that suddenly the entire back row of the center section in front of the mixing console is unavailable. Either they took it off sale which doesn’t make sense, or someone actually bought the entire row, maybe for family and friends.

I’m disappointed about the slow ticket sales. I’m sure the short notice has a lot to do with it and the limited promotion of the show, particularly in the beginning. It took several weeks before she even announced it on Instagram. Some fans in comments as recently as a few days ago are asking when and where the show is. So the news is not reaching a lot of people. Not everyone is a regular follower on KZbin and her socials. The southern California area is large enough that I would think there could easily be enough fans fill the entire theater if the show was promoted properly with plenty of notice. Living in LA for 6 years now I would think there would have been an opportunity for her to at least get a pretty good local following by playing small clubs once in a while like a lot of young artists do. That never seemed to be part of the plan. I feel bad for her and the band and am hoping that there can be a little surge in sales this week to at least fill 2/3 of the seats.

Maybe with age the opportunity is minimal in LA. Plus we are finding out only the last year that we aren't taking care of her near as well as we would have assumed. We had no reference really, most of us are shocked, they might be too. Small venues in Norway, festivals she was only a part of with many others. Whatever happens she'll adjust. She's smart, tough, and people won't let her believe she can't do it. We know she deserves our attention. Surprised she doesn't have us all. We have to be so thankful for some of you guys though, as Angels. Travelling to every concert, turns out she really needs you, we really need you. Not a rich world right, and her fans are struggling to support her in America at least. Promotion wise it's the same as Vegas, minus the billboards, which didn't help enough to be worth it I assume, but same timeline. Maybe a blueprint of sorts? Links on every official youtube vid this time though. I see comments like that from Vegas, Portsmouth too. Not knowing of the concert. It is everywhere, a few times in many cases. Many casual fans I guess, but it's no one's fault or anything. She needs more fans, a bigger breakout hit I guess. It's possible only Norway, Australia, Brazil and Indonesia would take care of her right now. But I do not think immediate success is the end all be all here. She has so much to build on, in her talent and artistry alone. She could have zero fans right now and I'd think she can get there. One thing is for sure, we can't assume she's taken care of by the world, til she's taken care of. The concerts I mean, it sucks she isn't given reason to do more concerts. Maybe more festivals instead at least til a single blows up. My only idea is some sort of 10 second add on every official youtube vid for concerts. Not sure what could be done, besides a single taking right off. She's not one to beg. I think she stands a chance to be happy and keep trying as long as she does right by her own self. And she always stands as good a chance as anyone at taking off.

In Portsmouth and Las Vegas it was the same. The balcony seats were all cancelled.. But yeah, i think if they will start promotion someday, tickets will be sold out after one day. It's not that simple, record companies place their bets on a wide spectrum of potentials and then they begin wither them down depending on variety of factors. A significant one is this the right act for the moment, can they as record company mould this person/persons into the image that they want. What the record company wants, not what artists want but the record company. That's how it works, the artist in the beginning has to be compliant, as they become bigger well that's where the battles between artist and record company begin in earnest. This concert Angelina is doing is in a fairly small venue where the balcony section has been removed but you have to consider the cost of even doing that one event. How many people are employed that night, from other musicians, sound engineers, riggers, other technical staff, management, right down security and ticket collectors, cleaners, etc etc. None of this is cheap and then there is the cost of hiring the venue. Ticket sales in beginning will cover some of it but not enough. Now as I said record companies have many potentials and they're all costing money, lots of money so it's just like spinning plates and they might abandon some of these plates if they feel that they wont get their investment back 'Fast Enough'. They don't care how good someone can sing or play an instrument, what matters is that this artist is doing is something that is relevant right now. Is jazz/soul what people want right now, you might say yes but the record company might not feel it's so. '' Republic is not promoting her enough'' Its' not that she's not a great singer but they 'might' not feel that this the time and place for that sound. Put it to you this way Janis Joplin was huge in her time but if she appeared now the chances are she would get nowhere, not because there is better singers now but because this is not the time for blues rock or that image.

Another thing to consider is that Republic has a huge lineup of artists under their label. Many that a lot of us may have never heard of in addition to the big names like Taylor Swift. All can’t possibly be promoted heavily. Also, some have suggested that it’s up to Angelina’s team to promote her. Another interesting thing is that earlier this year, Angelina was thanking her Patrons that support her saying it helps her stay independent. So Republic may not be in full control of her.

But truthfully the song is better than that. It is reflective. Means a bit more than that. It's not just her being hard to reel in. Turns out we are struggling to take care of our Angel, that the last two concerts were us doing our best, we wanted to think the opposite. Clearly she needs more fans, and more wealthy fans, not a rich world. Which means we have to be super thankful for those of you who have been travelling and making it. Huge obviously. Thank you so much, really. Make no mistake though guys, she's still exactly that great, always has a shot. Worst case, this just means American concerts won't be very frequent til she gets bigger. Or they have to change it up, get cheap help, do small festivals everywhere they can to gain a bit of fans. Grind like we never thought she'd have too. But it is ok. Keep her spirits up guys, she's incredible, and deserves our best in this case even more. We always have big hopes here, that doesn't change. Every song is a shot, like Bad Valentine. We've got a strong young woman, with infinite potential. Success isn't everything, never mind immediate success. Let yourselves enjoy her as best you can. Keep in mind dwelling on this in front of her too much isn't necessary, and won't help anything. We've had a year to soak in that we aren't enough yet. If she had five fans right now, I'd think she has as good a shot as anyone, because she sings like that. Lets help her fight, help her know she's got it in her.

I’m not sure why you are concerned about ticket sales. The venue has basically been cut in half so there are roughly 700 tickets available and right now there are only 82 tickets left, so she is at about 90% of capacity. Yes, there are still good tickets left, but is not a failure for ticket sells. I just looked again and it’s hard to understand how many tickets are left, the range is from 50 to it looks like about half on Ticketmaster which is odd to have that much disparity depending on the site you choose. I wouldn’t worry, it’ll be a good show regardless of attendance.

@@FrankJudd-d8x lol, the fact is the listening Public at large simply doesn't absorb her Music Style, as in there is "very little" market for her style, the Numbers show that as fact, AJ will get more Cookie Cutter Mainstream Pop or she will not get the support, it is Horrific I know. Her EP was Orders of Magnitude Above and Beyond what the Grammy crowd produces today, and it basically went "totally under the radar", her Appearance at the Grammys was just that, the listening public isn't absorbing her material, that is Cold Hard Fact, she has no choice but to take a different path or be Ignored and fade into obscurity, is it Fair?, you decide. Then you have the Trolls who constantly call her an Amy Clone when Amy was in no way AJ. And Republic at "5" years now not Promoting her isn't a Mystery, it simply isn't happening, she was called by Rob a Focus, and then nothing has been done, Republic is "not" promoting her, promotion is seen, where is it? It isn't good to look at but her Contractual Demands giving Republic largely no say has attracted exactly 0 Promotion from Republic, the Internet while making the Iron Fist Control over Artists much less than it used to be does not "make labels" Promote you Financially, "and" her Material and Style are simply not being absorbed, it is a sadly unfortunate circumstance, what makes her so Unique the public other than people with actual ears do not see or hear.
