In this video we'll dig into the latest MLB trade buzz surrounding Nolan Arenado and the Dodgers, Red Sox, Yankees and a Blue Jays report that came out this afternoon, plus I've got to defend Luis Arraez and I'll explain why he is a GREAT trade target for the Blue Jays after Ross Atkins was quoted that the trade market is where they'd "most likely" add to the team at this point in the offseason. Jon Heyman has indicated what the Mets would have to part with for Dylan Cease & I shoot that idea down and have a more realistic proposal and finally it looks like Luis Castillo won't be traded and will head to camp with the Mariners, which I believe is a big mistake and will outline why at the end of the video.

Tony Gonsolin has more value to the dodgers than washed Arenado would. Dodgers always go through a lot of pitching through 162 so there will be chances for Tony G to start. Especially since Ohtani won’t be ready for the first 1 or two months. Can never have to much quality pitching! Tony G is staying unless it’s for a CF like Robert Jr then Edman moves from CF to SS, Mookie back to 2B.

A rare moment where I finally like one of your Dodger trade proposals. I'm not actually a big advocate for Arenado either -- for the same exact reasons you stated -- but for Gonsolin, it might be worth taking a flyer on him to see if we can squeeze one or two more good seasons out of him.

That's what im saying, it makes no sense to keep CT3 aorund for this yr and pay him 13 mil. He would have to be included in a trade for Arenado. His bat would be such an upgrade in the bottom of that order. Muncy is a FA after this yr so you can actually play Arenado at 3rd base. After everything is settled with financials, you would be replacing Arenado with CT3 with this yrs salary and paying him around 13-15mil for the next 2 yrs. Doesn't make any sense to waste a roster spot on CT3 this yr when you already have so many utility guys excluding Kike. Dodger have been holding out because they know Cards would eat up majority of that contract, and with the rockies still owing 10mil in the deal, you looking at Arenado for 12-14mil for the 2 yrs after.

With Ohtani not projected to start (pitching) by opening day, I think the Dodgers will need Gonsolin to start the year. The likely opening day assignments are Snell to Glasnow to Yamamoto to Gonsolin to Miller. Saski only makes the roster out of camp if he crushes spring training. May and Sheehan have yet to throw any meaningful sim games since last year, but Gonsolin was already throwing before the playoffs and is most likely the closest to returning from injury. I do see a realm where they pitch Yamamoto and Saski in the Japan series this year, but we shall see.

Luis arraez the last 3 years is averaging a 120 ops+ and 3.3 war per season. Jays fans complain he doesn’t have enough pop which we need, but they also complain we need more bats. Arraez is a good hitter, we can hide his defence at DH and who cares about his base running. He played through 2024 hurt so everyone wants to make him an analytic punching bag instead of realizing he’s just a solid player.

By defending Arraez you really hit the nail on why nobody wants him. He is paid $14M and he can't play any position. He is a 1 trick pony and that trick isn't power. Let's try this: Player A has an OBP of .360; SLG .405; OPS+ 118. Player B has an OBP of .346; SLG .392; OPS+ 106 Which player would you like? What if I told you Player A makes half of what Player B makes? Obviously Player B is Arraez It's not that Arraez is a bad player. He just isn't worth the money and has to play DH. The Dodger deal if they offer one, does look like the most plausible. He's an LA guy, grew up a Dodger fan. I've been saying all along to anyone that would listen, that Arenado at some point, could be in a position to force his way to the Dodgers if multiple offers that are comparable get up on the table. Because he then simply threatens to re-invoke his NO TRADE CLAUSE again unless the Cards agree to the Dodgers deal. Under those circumstances, why wouldn't he? And the Cards would have no leverage to prevent that and would have to capitulate.
