Thank you for this opportunity to speak. Speaking out is important if we want to live in a life with justice for all. I saw Keith's tweet and clicked Like. Learned here that he got negative responses at twitter. I am a retired teacher of over ten thousand children, as a music teacher. I speak up because I believe being quiet provides fertile ground for prejudice and hatred to incubate and grow. Keeping quiet aids the oppressors to feel it will go unchecked by the rest of us. Not speaking up gives a nod to prejudice and bigotry that it will be allowed. It's easier to be quiet, as long it isn’t your family the target of the vitriol. The 1920s USA KKK and WKKK history in this country should be a great period to learn these lessons. This came to mind because those who are silent when voices of some are too weak to have power to turn the tide of vitriol need us in the "safe seats" to use our voices to lend to the cause of good human behavior. ~ "Nice people made the best Nazis. It’s not about disagreeing. It’s about it being an inappropriate venue. Just like how lots of people stopped tuning into ESPN, permanently, because it became political. Sports is one of the few areas of life where we don’t need to get into the divisiveness. And politics is inherently divisive. You can bring up politics if you want, but then don’t be surprised when you get pushback. If you start a divisive topic, don’t be surprised when you get a divisive response.

Politics is everywhere. It is naive to think otherwise. Some folks do NOT have the privilege to ignore social, cultural, political realities. Jesse Owens, Jackie Robinson, Muhammad Ali, Colin Kaepernick...in the words of the immortal Rage Against the Machine - "the frontline is everywhere". I think it's a huge mistake to even mention politics on your show being that it is such a divisive subject. Honestly disappointed to hear that stuff here. Should really take a cue from people like Patrick Mahomes who have avoided that trap. Just because we are free to voice an opinion doesnt always make it smart to do so in certain instances.
