Parker is a lock now.........Wohoo!! Daniels would be the cherry on top........elite ball user that retains possession.

It's a 100% yes to bring Caleb Daniel in if we can. He never misses a target. Elite user of the footy which is what we lack all over the ground

The KEY recruiting criteria should be ball use ..and Caleb meets that

IMO this is how I see things achievable... Houston is a matter of selling the dream to, paying Port in a trade is easily made. Carlton can sell the dream easily but will struggle to make the trade possible. Especially since Port missed out on Cummings and Perryman which would indicate they'll raise the price so Carlton are slipping from the Houston race. Dosn't affect North's offer though. With that said... - Pick 64 lands Darling. - Pick 58 matches any bid for River Stevens, F/S small Forward. - Pick 40 lands Parker, first offer would be a future 4th but Sydney often play hard ball so pick 40. - Daniels North can get for a future 3rd round pick. Then the Houston Trade. I believe North should use pick 2 and attempt to trade down in the process. By using pick 22 North should also be able to trade up from that pick. 3 club trade of Port, GC and North. Port Get: Pick 2 and Lukosius Trade: Houston, future 2nd and 3rd GC Get: Ports future 2nd and 3rd, Norths pick 22, future 2nd and 4th. Trade: Lukosius, picks 6, 20 and future 2nd North Get: Houston, Picks 6, 20 and GC's future 2nd. Trade: pick 2, 22, future 2nd and 4th - Port get the first round pick they desire at a premium cost and also land Lukosius as an applicable trade helped along by North's future's as well as their own. - GC effectively trading out Lukosius for a future 3rd and 4th which by pts equivalent is a late second round pick for a out of favour Forward that dosn't want to be at GC. Pick 20 for 22 is a very minor down grade but becomes a premium in the upgrade of their future second being swapped with Norths. Now to aid in balancing the cost of Houston, GC trade pick 6 to North as it a top 3 pick outweighs the value of Houston as its a proven commodity. It levels the expenditure and bodes well for GC in drafting a one Lombard while getting a storm of picks in place for next years academy players (4) - North spend a first round pick that Port want for Houston, trade back the draft order to have two top 20 selections and through Port provide a very amicable price for what GC are giving up in pursuit of their future draftees. -now after the Houston Trade, I'd wager North can very well go after Owies with the future 2nd rounder from GC. Its most more than likely a mid-late 2nd round pick and its a fair price for the out of contract Owies who can also stay at home in Vic like you said with North. That leaves North with only the single first round pick for the 2025 draft but is greatly an acceptable outcone as next years draft with be heavily diluted and straut with F/S's and Academy players. That leaves North with... Darling, Parker, Daniels, Houston and Owies. I'd also expect North to release CCJ from his final year at North as Teakle has filled that immediate role of depth as Ruck/FWD. Delist or Trade Drury and Lazzaro, Re-rookie Cooper Harvey. And in the draft... Pick 6: Armstrong or Shanahan. Pick 20: M.Whitlock or Hannaford or Sims That's my bold and achievable take of North's 2024 trade and draft periods. 2025 line-up will consist of... FB: Archer, Logue, Lmac HB: Daniels, Comben, Houston C: Scott, LDU, Mckercher R: Sheezel, Xerri, Parker HF: Zurhaar, Darling, Durrsma FF: Owies, Larkey, Curtis I/C: Wardlaw, Simpkin, Fisher/Corr, Ford Sub: Powell Emergencies: Teakle, Corr, Phillips

Good work. But no room for Goater? What do you see happening with George?

Are you a port fan? No fucken Zidane chance Houston is a round 2 pick. He is 28yo player first round at best. No chance we give up pick 2 unless we get 2 top 10 picks. The only deal we do is give freo future first get their pick 8 or 9 give that to port Houston to North. That's already on the table. Port have no chance of getting 2 first round they are dreaming hence they are saying he is contracted so well stay if they don't get what they want like a spoilt child stomping their feet. But their get what their given just like how we got screwed with jhf.

@@roo1773 Id give up pick 2 for an established AA half back to free up Mckercher and put him on the wing. We still get pick 6 for our tall forward and the first second round pick for a long-term full back/ another forward. We have enough mids, and with 9/10 of the first 10 picks touted to be mids, I think that securing Houston is worth giving port pick 2. Gotta put the JHF stuff behind us and think about the future. Remember we still have Brayden George who was meant to go as a top 10 pick but was injured. Must be special if theyre giving him a contract extension without playing a game. Hopefully River Stevens does an Archer and pops up out of nowhere. Also believe if Hansen Jr can have a big preseason he could have a great season. Securing Daniels also plugs a hole for Goater and Hardeman to develop for a couple years, so when Houston and Daniels either retire or (hopefully not) get injured, we have depth/ replacements. Parker to tuck Wardlaw under his wing, move Simpkin to a small forward role for this year, rotate Wardlaw in the midfield and Forward line. Darling allows whatever tall forward we get to develop and have a year in the VFL against bigger bodies. All these pickups would be huge and I genuinely believe that this off-season is our biggest in a LONG time. Our draft hand and trade potential is stronger than a lot of people think. Stringer is a copy of Zurhaar but 4 years older. Dont need him.

Highly unlikely for houstan with port not getting the gws players to replace him. Port won't wanna let him go unless they get a godfather offer. Also heard light rumors on north talking to sam de koning?

Sounds like Darling is definite and Parker is close to Definite, Getting Daniel would be great, would be happy to give a little for him. Houston would be great as well but don't think we should give up too much for him. I agree that we don't need a key/ medium defender, unless they are the best in the league, and I don't see any reason to get Stringer. Touring our club could have been him trying to get his price up or something, not us showing interest.

A fringe Carlton player potentially looking for his 3rd club sounds like yet another list clogger to me. Taking over other clubs' castoffs has never worked out for us, so no thanks. The same applies to Laverde. I'd be shocked if we signed Stringer. We need reliable players who can lead by example for the youngsters. Daniels would be a useful signing and he should be a cheap trade, so a yes for me. Fisher would likely pay the price because of his generally poor disposal by foot, which would make that trade officially another failure for Brady and the recruitment team. I know nothing about Konstanty other than that he was regarded as a good defensive forward in his draft year. If you can pick up an out of contract 2022 first round draft pick up for very little, I wouldn't necessarily dismiss that out of hand. Parker is exactly the type of high quality veteran we need at North, so I'm glad this deal sounds as if it is as good as done. I feel completely differently about Darling who is way past his best, particularly as he is on huge money. As good as Houston is and as much as I'd like him at North, I'm hoping that Port stay strong and insist on a high first round pick in this year's draft because I don't want to give up what is likely to be a top three pick in 2025.

Sorry to bombard you guys , but North HAVE to look at Winning games now ...and putting pressure on the incumbent players is the best way to expose their real desire to WIN ..

If Daniel joins he will be just one of maybe three players in the entire team who can reliably hit up a target by foot, alongside McKercher and the Sheez. That’s basically it.
