Arraez is very much not an on base machine. He’s a singles hitter with no power that doesn’t walk and doesn’t run, not a stealing base threat or someone that will take the extra base.

Dont forget a bad defender too. He's got a great contact approach and can definetly benefit a winning culture, but he's simply not that good.
@mike-vq8zw9 күн бұрын
@@aaronwitt03I watched him at first base with the Padres and to my surprise he was more than capable at the position. The rest about him offensively is true. There's a reason a guy wins a batting title 3 years in a row but does it with three different teams and may be on the move to his fourth team in 4 years. Something's not right

1.0 bWAR despite 200 hits and playing 40 games at 2B is HILARIOUS.
@RossCipriano6 күн бұрын
I think if the Pads want to keep him and get value out of him they should bat him 2nd and let him try to knock in a run when the leadoff guy gets on ahead of him. If its Merrill or Tatis they are in scoring position as soon as they get on. All Arraez would need to do is hit balls to the gaps and they would score from 1st.

Arraez is a player I'd be comfortable seeing a 7-8 year extension on. He's durable and a lock to hit .300+ every year. I could see him as a 35 year old still hitting over .300.
@johnstrawb35219 күн бұрын
7-8 years at 70-80m? Yeah, that works.
@redpillbrotherhood1109 күн бұрын
@johnstrawb3521 I doubt it would be under 90-100m, but that would be great

Todd's right, it's insane that arraez isn't more valued . And also every talks about OPS which has on base percentage in it so we should like him more
@johnstrawb35219 күн бұрын
Todd's incredible. Walking proof you don't have to have a clue about how value is created on the baseball field to make millions playing the game.

Pads should keep arraez. The guy is so much fun to watch hit. I’d love them to keep Jake also but if I had to choose I’d keep arraez.

Arraez is underrated no doubt. moder metrics don't like him but watch his ABs every day
@rayfinkle93699 күн бұрын
Everyone complains about Arraez value, but who do they replace him with that has the OPS that they'd rather have? Arraez will get on base 230 times a year at $10M less per year that that guy. Who cares if he's not hitting homers, bat him 3rd if they wanna see his RBIs go up. Boom, value increase. All the stat geeks just love to argue.
@NF411979 күн бұрын
Arraez may not have the biggest numbers, but the entire offense revolves around him. You may need a systems sort of lens to see it. But i think they are in deep trouble offensively if they trade him and don’t sign him.

I'd take Arraez on the Mets in a New York minute!

It’s crazy they think Arraez is so good yet he’s been traded three times the past three seasons. Wild 😛
@armandogomez26779 күн бұрын
It’s not wild considering he doesn’t have a position and good teams prefer to have DH open to give their guys some rest

@@kennethwilson9054 Soto got paid 805 million. Will Padres pay this to Arraez? And did Luis help the Padres get to the WS like Juan did? There are some major differences yes?
