what amazes me with elrs is that if i was to allegedly fly 8kms away i get all my telemetry back fine, using only a tiny EP1 rx. incredible performance from 50mw of return power in a thumbnail size unit.

CRSF has quickly become the choice for many pilots. All we need is a simpler telemetry setup (for those who use it in 'anger') and ditching the CH5 high = system active nonsense...

Lee, yes a separate video on the UART flasher would be great- I eventually figured it was just a dressed up FTDI adapter which I already had. Including a section on that in your video would save people some money and, more importantly, shipping time if they realise they already have the means on their bench as I did.

Great stuff from RadioMaster this year. Hopefully early 2024 they will release some sensors to be used with the RadioMaster ER RXs (current, etc). Thanks and happy flying

I love that the UART stick comes with all the connectors. Usually you just get a bare PCB and the connection is left to you.

Hey There Painless360, I've been out of the game for a while (6 year). I still have a Taranis XD9+ with the XM+ receivers with 2.2.0 firmware. I want to start flying again planes and my drones I still have in the basement. 1. First should go for a new full Radio ? as I see I can put edgeTX on the Taranis I still have. I think and then use a module on the back. 2. Is the ELRS the new choice ? or should I go with crossfire. I want something that works. 3. I'm located in the EU. Regards Jeremy

I am still flying my trusty Taranis. The best radio FrSky ever made, and they made it by accident :D Here are my answers to the questions (thanks for the easy to follow layout of things you want help with, makes it easy for me!) 1) I would seriously consider it. The Taranis is slow and with limited memory so you'll end up making the move sooner or later if you want to start using more modern systems like ExpressLRS. 2) It sure is. See my series on it. A system not owned by any one vendor so someone like FrSky can't decide to leave you in the lurch when they want to try and become DJI and just sell you 'better' hardware without providing decent support - see ACCST V1. 3) No issue ExpressLRS radios are EU legal. See the RadioMaster website and my reviews of things like the TX16S and Boxer.. I hope that helps.

@@Painless360 Hey Lee, Yes this helps a lot. I'm currently reflashing my 5 inch quad and 7 inch with a DYS F4 PRO FC + ESC combo with the latest betaflight. But For now I can still fly them okay fine :-) Maybe the Boxer radio with ELRS feels like the right step- up. I saw it on amazon the other day for only 100€ Only thing I need to check for my Taranis XD9 plus with: 2x XM+ and 1 X8R receiver to get them all on the same firmware. I thinking of buying this new Swordfish fixed wing to get back into flying and later upgrade radio's and later I want to try to also change my FPV gear into digital. What do you like ? Walksnail or DJI ? It is amazing how quickly everything gets old if you leave it for a short while. Thank you for your amazing videos !

I only use flight controllers here. The hobby either uses telemetry back via the reciever or uses a seperate telemetry radio. See my videos on both. Best of luck

I've never found that I've needed one for these kinds of Nano receivers. Where are you installing them where they need extra mechanical protection?
