Video for beginner turners about the WM210V400 lathe. Part 1 is a personal story about the experience gained and episodes of finding solutions.
A series of videos about subsequent successes, discovered problems and medications in the playlist • Станочная металлообраб...
This is the first part for those who, like me, fell for the stories of bloggers and joyful commentators writing rave reviews without realizing the real limitations and defects of the machine, or the defects encountered by many.
I supplemented my first incompetent review on ALI with a list of defects that I currently know. Sorry, but my 3-star rating cannot be corrected.
If you are planning to buy such a machine, you should understand that you are not buying a tool, but a Chinese semi-finished product of educational level. Therefore, the money and time spent should be treated with a smile and enjoyed.
It is quite possible that the machine will be able to help you turn something, but if you put the same amount of effort, money and time into an industrial machine, most likely the result would be a completely different level of quality. As they say, everyone enters a new field of activity (hobby) in their own way. Good luck!

defect detection, repair, modernization, homemade products, use experience
A lot of interesting things, without advertising and silence.
P\s\ I do not post a link to the product. All information is in the video.
Delivery 75 days - by train through Russian customs (50-60 days without tracking), then by transport company with a track from the seller.
One of the advantages about the seller is the normal packaging and attachment of a set of equipment, which is quite difficult for a beginner to buy without understanding. Then you still need to buy $100-300 worth of equipment in order to set up the machine and perform basic operations with non-ferrous metals and soft alloys/steels with minimal removal. Steels ST30, ST45, 40X and harder require modernization and experience, otherwise the device crumbles the cutters, and the cost of manufacturing a single part is simply shocking at first.
In general, you take $1000 out of your wallet and you can find yourself a lot of fun. And another + $1000 for the first year of spending to equip the workplace and bring the machine to hobby use.
