@Lathland: You can guarantee the Rubricator spawns closer to your territory by moving the Science Vessel back to your space, after completing the Special Project, but before you hit the OK button on the event popup (just unpause and order it back to your home world). It's kind of "cheaty", but it is very much a feature! Technical Explanation: The system will be spawned in relation to the science vessels position, and that position will be noted only as you click OK.

@dragonlord19354 жыл бұрын
@OriginalTharios Well, I'd say that Spiritualists and Psionics aren't really cults they're more like widespread religions. In a Spiritualist empire, pops are allowed to follow any ethos whereas in an actual cult such thinking would likely get you immediately executed or removed from the cult (Like how a collective consciousness deals with rogue drones). That's not all that different from real life when you think about it. Most religious people are fine with people having their own beliefs unlike cults which REQUIRE you to think in a certain way if you want to be associated.

I'm with you Lathrix, it's infuriating watching fleets dive bomb the station and dive straight into the gravity well splitting their fire away from the two fleets halfway between them and the station and losing any range advantage they might have had immediately. I wish they would actively try to stay at their max range from enemies and prioritize attacking fleets first, would make combat so much more dynamic.
@RobBCactive3 жыл бұрын
On transport ships, artillery fleets best include 20-25% X H2 carriers for point defence and clearing out small evasive targets. Also, taking out the station turns off the base auras and can even turn the system neutral, so it can be a big advantage to do that especially with perdition beams and L slot weapons with poor tracking against close targets. AFAIK if the fleet is out of range of the base, it won't be engaged, so I try to lure fleets to the edge of the system and approach them from as far from the base as possible when it matters. Lath, has to keep his play throughs fast paced so he isn't micro managing the details. But there is a mod providing more tactical combat control, so it may be worth a shot, Republic of Play used it in his Roman Empire play through which lists the extensive mods he used

If you use the spawn event command, and the play command, (debugtooltip command useful as well) you can actually play the game as the Contingency itself! If you are playing as the crisis, everything works properly, just like when you fight them in a regular playthrough! The only difference is that if you play as the crisis instead of the ai, you can also build megastructures, such as gateways and strategic coordination centers, whereas the ai cannot build them. Lastly, If you want to power them up to 25x difficulty level, just like Lathrix fought in the video, type this command: research_all_technologies 0 250 Using this to instantly research the repeatables 250 times, should increase your power rating to 25x crisis power rating. Unfortunately, it does not increase hull points, as there is no repeatable tech for that, but otherwise, you are the Contingency at max difficulty level!

Great video! Ancient Caretakers are the best and easiest Fallen Empire to attack first, because: 1) Attacking them early prevents them to get corrupted by the contingency (which has a 1.5x higher weight to occur with them on the map) 2) They own a Ringworld with 3 intact sections and a few good special buildings and often derelict megastructures like a matter decompressor or dyson's sphere in their border 3) They are by far the easiest FE to kill. Bonus If playing a true Gestalt Empire: It means getting a lot of free pops instantly Why are the Caretakers the easiest to kill? (Edit: Should've finished the whole video first, in the end you did wipe them out, but going for the Caretakers first would have been better as it can be done it with fewer fleet losses & in return ending up with larger, higher tech navies the Spiritualists and already restoring 2 free derelict megastructures) All you have to do is have enough armies to be able to take all 3 Ringworld sections simultaneously and enough fleet to take out the Starbase in their home system. Lure their fleets away, or wait for them to come invade you. Kill the Starbase, land your armies and get out of there. No need to even fight their fleets that will turn back home. With all 3 sections being invaded, they won't be able to build armies and Caretakers don't maintain a standing army, unlike normal FEs. If your invasion succeeds the FE will self-terminate and their fleets will be disbanded. You'll be getting the FE tech from the drop of the one Starbase that you have killed. With the new Ringworld, you've just saved a few decades and lots of alloy to build your own and can instead build up,m upgrade ships and take out any other FEs before they wake up.
