About the "like the vid" graphic: I see no issue with this. I really don't find it to be greedy or aggressive. I am honestly surprised that it really takes a mention of it in order to get people to actually like the video. This should be an automatic response from any viewers who are enjoying the content or wish to support the creator. However, it does seem to be necessary to remind people as your video with crazy amounts of likes proves. so just do it. It could only help you and, in turn, allows your viewers to get more amazing content!

Graphic sounds good (assuming it isn't like the entire screen) probably include a little 'shotgun particle cannon' type effect when it appears at about twice the size of the graphic to draw the eye momentary so it doesn't get mentally filtered out. I assume the burst would end up about 1.5 times as large as player section of the bottom right UI.

I do agree though that Lathrix's build is awesome and the fact that making it fly being easy does not mean that the craft as a whole is any less awesome, nor is it easy to make things look interesting which, in my opinion, it does. It is an amazing heli/sub/cruiser.

About the liking situation: In all honesty, when people say in their videos "like my video" and such, just looks greedy. Your channel on the other hand is actually not like that, it just feels like you're making videos for fun and I love that, I also like your videos on purpose and I wanted to like them not to save it to my "liked videos playlist" like I do with most songs, but to help out the channel. Air launch and travel, for extra speed, with a barrage of torpedoes at the end for the actual hit? Sounds like it could be terrifying and a good way to overwhelm point defenses on stronger craft. My only concern would be the initial, air born, missile being able to track the underwater sub well enough to deliver its payload.

Missile quicktip: When having multiple fins, you can improve the turning ratio by splitting them between the back and the front. Essentially, that it's more efficient to have fins (and turning thrusters) towards the extreme ends of the missiles. Bonus quicktip: On torpedoes, adding a magnet near the front will -help- steer a torpedo toward subs once it draws close (I've found this true having tested with poor turn rate torpedoes, especially on altitude). I really love the look of the side dedi's with the grating and extended ventilation look. Yeah, it's a bit exposed, but the grating just looks cool. :\ Thank you for mentioning your irl situation- I have parents who would be in the at risk category too, though thankfully have avoided contracting it. And I worry for them even so, so I understand. I hope you can stay happy and healthy.

@@ashardalondragnipurake Indeed. One thing worth mentioning is that the torpedo propulsion can work against this, though, at least while in the water. Faster propulsion can cause the torp to circle or spiral the foe rather than ram into them, but indeed, magnets are surprisingly effective close-range guidance. They aren't a replacement for torp sonar, but they can either work in conjunction with it, or on dumb-fire torps (or missiles) for that wee bit of extra accuracy. It's also hilarious when combined with sonar boueys and sticky flares and no explody bits to ping enemy craft for certain missiles and torps.

Oh, wow, Lathrix, the fact you've managed to putout all of these videos without letting on hint of what was going on is amazing. Quite frankly, I assumed you were just talking about the coronavirus, in general, rather than anything personal. I'm glad your mother has started to make recovery and I hope your father is able to swiftly do the same. I know there's not much you can do, given the situation, but try to stay safe. For you initial question, I actually find you asking for like to be less disruptive than a graphic. These videos go on more than long enough to justify the request and to easily fit one in without disturbing actual content too much. A verbal request also gives you to vary it slightly or suit it to what you're currently doing, rather than a generic cut and past thing that's the same across all of your videos. I think that extra bit of personal effort can make the appeal feel more genuine and impactful. That said, I am well aware of the tributes demand by The Algorithm, and I wouldn't begrudge you asking for likes and subscribes in either format. As for the changes to your ship, the new look reminds me of a helicarrier, which is pretty cool. I think part of the reason it looks like it's going backwards and looks extra weird in the waters is the fact that the blade casings are presenting a fairly large flat face in the direction of motion. You might be able to solve that by moving the blades further out and setting them up like outriggers, with their own mini prows at the front and some lines connecting them backwards to suggest a unified hull. Alternatively, you could add a half a wedge that tapers them in towards the existing prow. Personally, I think the outrigger look is more interesting, but anything that gets away form the flat front should help. In terms of weapons, I'd love to see the lasers, simply because you haven't done anything with them recently and I'd like to see how they work. They'd also fit nicely in the hodge podge of weapons you have going. On a similar note, would it be worth looking into some kind of point defense or force field, particularly for torpedoes, just so you aren't constantly taking lots of little shots? Finally, you can make custom jets?! Is there anything in this game you can't customize? I really need to get around to finishing the tutorial and starting to build stuff.

about the asking for likes: I really like your little sentence in the outro ('like, share, comment all the good stuff. helps out me, helps out...'). That always does it for me. I'm not a fan of the graphics that blend in the video, but I don't mind them. Most of the time I just ignore them, when done by other youtubers. Now the talk in the video before is always helpful to be reminded, that there is more to a like, than is obvious. Lath, one of the reasons your videos are so loved is because they are pure, they are purely you and your mind working on stuff and having a good laugh with all of us. We do not care about youtubers that start their video's with "dont forget to like and subscribe, only 11% that is watching is actually subscribed" i personally hate this a lot, and i'm sure you're one of the biggest youtubers that is not constandly 'wining' about likes and subscribtions. About the graphic: normally when i see those graphics on other channels, i ignore them, because i thought that it wouldnt change the way youtube handles the video since there have been conversations about this with youtube and they denied the fact that it made a difference. BUT they way you explained how it actually does affect the algorythm made me consider giving more attention to liking videos. In conclusion i would recommend a way where you can show the importance of a like instead of asking for one.

The rotors do look cool: it would look amazing in the equator of an airship: it's an idea for another build. Anti-Cram munitions to beat godly ships! Likes request, ect: well, you do what you need to do. A card near the beginning and a request at the end should be fine.

I was wondering, when you have some more free time could you possibly do a one off build of a sub that uses harpoons to drag its enemys down into the depths and destroy it with drills or spin blocks? Also when you have a lot more free time then that, could you possibly set up a discord server? It would help bring the community together and you would be able to get feedback easier. Edit: I just watched the end and payed attention instead of writing a comment, I hope your father manages to fight off covid, and hopefully you can get a bit of rest from yt and life and whatevers stressing you out, sometimes a break can useful. Also the graphic would be completely fine by me and I’m sure about 90% of your fanbase would be fine with it. A small percentage(me included) wouldn’t mind and perhaps would even encourage you verbally asking for likes at the beginning or end of the video, after all you are plenty of peoples favourite youtuber and I’m sure all of us want to see the channel grow.
