Lathland, on renaming the fighter squads, the bug is because it clicks through to the fighter slot underneath when you try to press 'OK'. To get around this, simply drag the rename box off to the side of the fighter menu.

I'd really like to see 3 things in this game to make it truly amazing: 1. Better enemy fleet AI - right now there's no positioning, they seem to just sit still and let you blow them apart 2. Improvements to Fighter swarm UI with hot keys and such 3. Scalable weapon sizes where larger means more damage, more cost

@@xymaryai8283 truth be told, most industrial design aesthetics are based on the primitives, hence the huge impact they have on the formal "elements of design". That said, good to see someone digging into lathrixian Avorion. I've been begging for another series for 4 years now... Wow time flies.

You should really have some sensor upgrades equipped as you currently missing out on a lot of the special events (yellow blips) and beacons (which can be hard to find in asteroid fields without help) outside of ones you stumble upon by random luck. I was incorrect previously when I said they only difference between materials was hp and weight as i have found some systems do get better with higher quality material. For instance shields are stronger (a trinium shield generator is noticeably stronger than a naonite one of the same size) but there are some parts where it doesn't seem to have any effect (thrusters don't get any stronger with better materials outside of weight changes). Due to lack of reference points for the most part in the game its hard to tell how big your ships are getting. My first trinium ship doesn't look much bigger than my last ship but took around 100k worth of trinium to finish (had to take it out incomplete to harvest more cause I was so caught off guard by the sheer amount of resources).

for a game the the great Thrix immediately praised the building system of, it is pretty disappointing that he hasn't kept this game around despite keeping FTD, don't get ne wrong, i love FTD but the building system pretty tedious compared to this i think Lath likes FTD more for the RTS elements though, or at least, he's trying to like it for that, but ends up loving adventure mode more which is pretty analogous to this game's progression

haha, that is quite epic with the fighters salvaging. I kept having too many issues with them and just never really bothered with them again. My biggest issues is a lot of times they just would not re-dock back on the ship.

Replace all your staff with specialised and have max 3 usual ones because you will get them to upgrade themselves and use less space by needing 1 of the upgraded specialised for 3 of the normal jobs or even more !!!

you should really spread out all your weapons throughout your ship. put your rail guns on the top your ship and your Tesla weapons put in the front and your lasers should go on the sides of the ship near the front and on the top with a mixture of your cannons on the top and put a couple in the rear detector engines just in case you know so when you go to turn you still have a few guns still firing at your target

I'm very pleased to hear that the developers are working on the fighter concerns - It'd be such a bloody shame that such an awesome feature might end up being underpowered - or downright useless; who doesn't want to be the big bad space admirals sending out a swarm of vicious fighters while sitting back, enjoying the carnage. 'Final' form.. heh. 15 upgrades max... you get the last one around 148 million volume. CPU counts for about 10x tho.. Also.. cannons get a really high combat score.. because it does AoE dmg. Hit an enemy ship around several small bits to get several hits. I monoboat a full load of custom built cannons. 20 Quad-barreled Orgonite one. The number of calculations actually cashed my game.. or are just ignored. I have to fire them in volleys of only a couple shots at a time. If you can aim... you can't beat cannons.

you can make an ai captain hanger ship with pure miners and just have it mine the entire sector for you while you fight, trade, upgrade, ect. just make sure you have it escort you before you jump to the next area.

400k trinium is neat for sure, but just today i found an enormous station wreck containing 32 Million naonite. course i was heavily damaged at the time and in need of titanium to fix it, so i couldn't get much done before xsotan showed up.

maybe they fixed it already, but in my game combat fighters is very useful. 2 wings of combat fighters based on legendary xanion rail gun turret just tear down every ship outside of inner ring in seconds, i don't even need to engage in battle on my ship, they do all work faster. And no casualties, byw

I find that with salvage and mining fighters they don't mine or salvage the same amount t as you would. If you mined an asteroid you would get a few thousand but it seams fighters only get a few hundred.
