Three cheers for Parliamentary System!

Quick reminder Lathrix, Planetary capitals now have designation types, so for a little extra output, such as a trade capital (10% more trade) or say extraction capital (+15% worker output), I noticed you weren't using the new designations so just wanted to give a tip to help in further games ^-^

Cyborgs do get the cyborg trade trait but you have to pay for it per pop but if you go psionic with legally distinct Slaanesh, its special building gives +10% TV empire-wide and +15% from its chosen ruler.
@Alister222222
@Alister222222 Жыл бұрын
I think the way it works is that the trade value from pops is multiplicative with empire trade value; this means the +25% you get from cyborg trade value effectively multiplies by your empire trade value bonuses, making it more like +50% after all multipliers.
@robertblume2951
@robertblume2951 Жыл бұрын
Also remember you can add bio pop traits as well and the 2 bonuses you get for production from being cyborgs.
@Edelweysss
@Edelweysss Жыл бұрын
It's still totaly worth it to pay for even multiple cyborgs points considering the fact that even for species with a lot of cyborgs traits the numerous reduction on pop upkeep you get from cyborg tree, cyborg trait on personalities + the natural bonuses on pop upkeep you get per level for each governors. It make those energy upkeep merely irrevelant and way better than psionic on a trade value perspective considering the amount of trade value you get from the trading algorithm. Considering the comparison with psionic i believe the calculation make the individual bonuses for each pop producing TV is more important than the bonuses empire wide and planet ones like the other comments said.
@Edelweysss
@Edelweysss Жыл бұрын
@@robertblume2951 the job ressources production bonuses doesn't apply to TV, that's the reason why you won't lose TV for employing clerks or merchant on a 0% habitability planet despite the 50% job output malus.
@bodbyss
@bodbyss 7 ай бұрын
It's just .27 energy per pop (or much less depending on agendas and governors). For 1 point, and a trifling bit of energy, the trade value trait is still be best thing around for a trade based empire. Plus if you really hate it that much, remove it from any planet that isn't trade focused, no big deal.

*Faction unity* works like this. *Formula:* 0.25 × faction's political power × faction approval × faction support × (1 + Σ modifiers) *Political Power:* This is all summed up. Each pop has 1 base political power. Political power from living standards increases this. Ex. Academic privilege gives ruler pops 900% political power. This essentially makes 1 ruler pop act as 10 pops instead. *Faction support* = Faction political power / Σ Political power of all pops in all factions *Other things of note:* Rouge servitors drone pops have 0.09 base political power and bio-trophies have 1 base political power but also get +1000% political power. Slaves get -75% political power than a non-slave pop, but they also can't be part of a faction. Shared burdens is only better than academic privilege if the number of worker pops is greater than 10 × Σ ruler pop + 5 × Σ specialist pop and everyone is in the egalitarian faction. Political power also affects how much a pop's happiness will impact stability.
@Lukashoffmann94
@Lukashoffmann94 Жыл бұрын
I don't think your last statement regarding Shared Burdens is correct. The worker count being greater than 10x rulers + 5x specialists is without taking the 2x unity multiplier into account. So you would "only" need 5 worker pops per ruler and 2,5 per specialist.
@vrenshrrg
@vrenshrrg Жыл бұрын
It's really unfortunate that the "most" egalitarian living standard, utopian abundance, really makes the egalitarian faction unity gain theme fall flat on its face due to how little political power *all* pops have.
@Fabunility
@Fabunility Жыл бұрын
@@Lukashoffmann94 That's also wrong since it ignores the fact that academic privilege workers still have political power, you need 8 workers for every ruler since 1*10+8*1 = 1*2+8*2 so 9 pops would provide 18 political power under either system and an additional 3 workers for every specialist as 3 workers + 1 specialist provide 8 political power under either system using those ratios. Realistically though those are never ratios that you want to achieve as specialists are king in this game which make academic privilege so good.

But the shared Burden living standard tanks unity because of the political power debuff doesn't it
@smile-tl9in
@smile-tl9in Жыл бұрын
This is unfortunatly a trap. This is because the unity each pop generate through faction is multiplied by their political power. The shared burden living standard does not increase political power of any strata. Compare to academic privilege who gives specialist 5 times the base political power and ruler 10 times, and the fact you want in practice spam as much metallurgists and scientists jobs as possible who are specialists, and you can see how you can massively outproduce unity compared to shared burdens. Nah the real parelemntary system build have a splash of materialist for academic privilege
@smile-tl9in
@smile-tl9in Жыл бұрын
Note : after the new patch it is no longer a trap. Utopian abundance provide 400% political power to every class. Shared burdens 300% but is much less costly in terms of consumer goods

I've been saying for years that Parliamentary System is actually good. Some people laughed. The power of that civic was always that it just lets you focus on other stuff while passively shoving you through the tradition trees. It was always good and ever since the changes in the last expansion it's great. People have been sleeping on this for years.
@RobBCactive
@RobBCactive Жыл бұрын
Most of the Meta is based on MP where a rush to an effective fleet in 2230 with enforced peace beforehand skews the game. SP strategies that set you up for 2275 onwards even using a handicapping origin are just too long term. Lots of the discussion around Stellaris is black/white without mentioning the settings, yet a long Huge galaxy game is very different to the compact ones used for MP. An example of good SP strategy is building bots to use as specialist workers, the pay off comes too late for MP rushes, where they'll avoid the exo-skeletons as it opens up the wrong parts of the tech tree.
@somedudeok1451
@somedudeok1451 Жыл бұрын
@@RobBCactive Nah dude, I'm always talking about competitive 2230 strategies. And Parliamentary System is effective in that context, because it frees up plenty of specialist jobs. People think the CG bonus from Masterful Crafters is good, well Parliamentary System lets you save way more CGs by not having to pay for unity generation. And if you do choose to build even just culture centers, you'll be getting at least one extra tradition tree done by 2230. Also, what you say about robots also isn't true. Getting robots early can be extremely beneficial, because you'll have quite a few extra pops working from years 20-30 when you're trying to max resource output to construct your fleet.
@RobBCactive
@RobBCactive Жыл бұрын
@@somedudeok1451 Only if you can get the bots early enough but they consume alloys in manufacture. Recent versions have become imbalanced, but it wasn't the case in fairly recent versions. It takes quite a while to turn out bots and you're fore-going the opportunity to bee line to to tech you want as powered exo-skeletons opens up a lot of possibilities. I don't see why you're saying nah, because effectively your reply is a demo of needing to know specifics. In the past parliamentary helped with other things longer term, but just had a significant unity boost for fulfilling mandates early on in the game. Factions earned influence and you needed unity workers if you wanted rapid completion of traditions. Parliamentary has been made more viable in MP meta, but my own favourite unity strategy was slowed behind the traditions and other stipulations in the recent game. Who knows what will work in future versions as the game strategy is NOT stable.
@somedudeok1451
@somedudeok1451 Жыл бұрын
@@RobBCactive Meta doesn't have to be stable to have Parliamentary System work in it currently. The rest of what you said doesn't really contradict my points. Robot workers remain valuable despite making bee lining more difficult (metallurgy techs are just there to make more alloys out of less workers, but you just have more workers it's pretty much the same) and Parliamentary System does the stuff I said it does in MP, so it's not a single player strat.

It's not even as micro-intensive as I thought it would be at the start, once you make a template of your pops for every job, any new planets you conquer you decide what you want that planet to be and then put the pop optimized for the job.

If intending to go cyborg ascension, in my mind you want to take only 2 positive species traits and 1 negative trait at the start so that you save more 'trait picks' later on for your cyborg templates. Which gives you the most flexibility. You stacked up too many bio traits at the start and you're stuck with the positive ones for the rest of the game for all of your templates. Which might not be ideal on some planets.

sounds like you need a mod to further strengthen the endgame crisis to keep it challenging, if you are already more than ready 15 years before the earliest possible spawn date. i mean, i know that this was just a very potent empire type but you are already a good player to rather easily overwhelm the opposition most of the time regardless the empire type you are playing. some struggles are there, when you play the more niche/roleplay heavy builds, but you still win even with handicaps, most of the time.
