Entry 1: It has come to our attention that a new pirate lord is gaining traction in the South Neter region. 'Lord Lathrix' they call him. Though we've only just discovered him, we've found that he has eliminated the Deepwater Pirates and the Lightning Hoods. He shows no mercy towards anyone, bludgeoning the zealots of the White Flayers with attacks and ship thefts. Interestingly enough, the Onyx Watch has forged a strong alliance with the so-called 'Lathrixian Legion'. Most of the remaining factions are quick to ally themselves with the Legion and the Watch - I imagine they're hoping to avoid their own annihilation. Lathrix appears to model himself as a civil, benevolent ruler. However, our tentative spies amongst their numbers reveal a different side to the man. A new platform has been designed, one with a sacrificial altar of razorblades. The Legion worships a god named Khorne, one who desires blood -- but cares not from where it flows. It is a pit of vipers who smell weakness and devour it. Most recently the self-titled Lord has developed a powerful airship, one not based entirely on offence as was their style up until recently. Our moles in the White Flayers have informed us of its immense strength; it can take punishment equivalent to the Judgement-class dreadnoughts. Its surface is covered in almost nothing but cannonry, though word is coming in now of powerful lasers strong enough to obliterate a small craft in but an instant. Worryingly, the man at the helm is almost fearless. He has stolen a Judgement-class Perforator battleship, defeating it with ease and painting it red in honour of the god he idolises. Journal entry 16: Well this week was quite interesting. Let's start off with me. I had quite possibly the awkwardest time amongst my superiors. The leader Lathrix decided to bond with the people of the Cold Lock and had invited admirals to discuss the current situation as well as learning about each other. And of course I was there. I had warned the admirals to contain their guts if they were to see the many heads hanged by the neck bone over at the Blood Shrine. When they arrived, all the heads were gone. Yeah, very awkward... The Lathrixians kept stagnating on 'Flayer territory, making sure to possess the correct equipment before stepping on High Lorham. The Blood Thirster has had time to replicate the lasers of the Scorpion and grew a tongue, inheriting the nickname among Onyx admirals as Blood Licker. And I thought the Blood Guard used cruel means, when the Onyx Watch pops a name of this sort, it means we are truly getting along. Anyway, the new version of the Blood Thirster cuts through the 'Flayers like a knive in butter, allowing Fishbone Island to stand lone at the grasp of the Blood Guard. Other than that the week was quite stale. But it's good to be able to bond with them. A truly good move by the Lathrixians. "Milla Longrow" Onyx Watch Intelligence.

Journal Entry 1: I have been recruited in the Lathrixian Legion, I used to work in the white flayers as a janitor in the Spike, but the Lathrixian Legion found me quite talented, but since the spike sank, I have been reassigned in the Bloodthirster version 2 (now with LASERS!) . Right now I work as a laser operator obviously in the Bloodthirster v2. Battles: In my first real battle, we are fighting the Devourer which I believe is a melee ship that I've seen before in the white flayers as a Janitor, and Lord Lathrix believed as Laser Resistant but it's not. We also fought some weaker ships. Now we have an Altar of Khorne to kill the mainframes of enemy ships which is just perfect, because the white flayers treated me like a slave and I want to watch them sacrifice blood to Blood God. I tought achallenge for a future campaign I call it, the "First Person Campaign" Game Conditions: Resource: localized (if abiliable) Difficulty: your choise Campaign: your choise Rules: *For Every Flotilla you own, the Flagship must be a ship that only you can use, instead of the AI *you must try to participate in every battle, even if you end doing nothing (it might happen) *you can use AI detectors and AI mainframe to make Aim-Assisted weaponry *you can start battles from long ranges if you want to (you can aim at enemies at +5k meters with any gun that have the range, Aim assisted weaponry make it even easier) *if you have a flotilla made of aircrafts, you have to control one of them, same for submarines, or spaceships If you have a flotilla made of cargo ships, you also have to control one of them I think that this setting might refresh the game, not only change the meta of the gameplay, but also of the bulids, now you have to worry about making a good bridge where you can see the battle well, or making aircrafts stable enough for you to fly them (it will be fun looking at you trying to make a bomb or gun run)

There really is no reason to use anything other than 4Q for offensive lasers. 0Q has application for anti-missile LAMS, while 4Q is preferable for anti-CRAM, but the other modes really have no point right now. Proposed changes will give all Q counts the same power to damage conversion efficiency that 4Q currently enjoys, so it then becomes a matter of flavor. There is a very niche use for 1Q systems which turns them into a pseudo-PAC sniper with a heavy alpha strike. You can make that kind of system pierce 5 metal beams per shot.

Some cool goals would be to make a massive battle fortress (never seen you really focus on fortresses) or make an airplane with a mothership... that has a mothership. That'd be something unique I've never really seen before. (Airplane docks to a flying mothership, "mothership" docks to its own flying mothership). It'd be fun to see, like 9 planes dock to 3 motherships which can dock to a supercraft. Also is easier for transport. Can't wait to see what you'll do!

Pretty sure you can only have one level of docking, sadly - we'd have seen some mad docking based mechs by now if that wasn't the case.

@BlackPoison unfortunately you can't have multiple docking chains. I don't know why not, I really REALLY want a tentacle robot-arm-thing made entirely of docking stations that can make epic horrible flailing movements, but sadly 'tis not to be. Of course you can still sorta fudge it if you know how. Even if a vehicle can't be docked via docking station, it can be held (glitchy but it sorta works) by the physical structure of the mothership. Still, I think they need to add spaceship-style docking with coupler/decoupler joints that just straight-up merge two vehicles together if they get close enough to the right position/orientation relative to each other.

Continous lasers are effective in shotgun mode (where you set up the laser emitter to have a delay of 10 or less seconds - because the thing with moving units and detection systems. it will be firing 20 shots, then pause, really energy conservant, and: a Laser shotgun! ;) Maybe make an unholy union of Worldbearer and the maiden Perforator? Taking hull parts, defense systems and turrets from each? Make it WAAGH!, as orcs always please the Blood god. :D

This is General Bobby of the White Flayers. Today was pretty quiet to be honest. The Lathrixian Legion has modified their metal airship to include lasers, which have penetrated even our perforator. Speaking of that perforator, Lathrix captured it, meaning he probably will turn it into a horrible abomination, like he did with everything else he captured. I don't want to see what he does with the perforator. Also, the Legion has been gaining a lot of allies. Factions like the Steel Striders, Twin Guard, and Grey Talons are gaining friendships toward the Legion, and are supplying it with advanced technologies. Ironically, these are the factions that Lathrix is planning to destroy, so we can assume that these friendships won't be lasting for long. To top everything off, Lathrix destroyed another one of our villages, and used it's scrap to build altars to his Blood God, which also double as resource collectors. Thankfully, they are not armed, so they should be relatively easy to take out. But one thing that troubles me is that AI mainframes, derived from the minds of those he has captured, are being hung above grinders and being drained for power to drill for resources. Yes, he copies us once again. But what troubles me is that the 13 Sages, the former leaders of the Lightning Hoods, could suffer the same fate as those that have had their brains extracted from their bodies and put into mainframes. Yes, that is a very disturbing thought. Also, has Lathrix not realized that the Davy Jones Locker does not have rescource collectors? What a shame. @Lathrix i am so happy you made a giant laser for the blood thirster. One thing I had a lot of success with is by slowing down the rate of fire. If your engine doesn't fully charge between shots it gimps your damage, so instead of making an infinitely large engine you can slow down the rate at which it fires so your engines power up faster and give harder hitting shots. Just food for thought :^)

Hey Lath! I've designed (with some forum help) a system of modular fuel engines capable of producing from 1000 to over 20000 power, all at around 300 power per fuel (efficiency is key!). If you want, I can share the design as well as some instructions on how to use it. Also good to note, these engines run VERY cool, but have a cross-section size of 5x5, making them kind of big for small ships.

Removing the third (central) laser would free up the other two to do more damage per shot, unless you have 3 distinct laser systems. This is why people advise building a seperate smaller laser generator if you are going to use Laser AMS with a doomsday laser... It is also why my attempt at building a galleon with laser broadsides sucked so much.

Being allied and using Onyx Watch ships "with their permission." That's literally exactly what I did in the Adventure mode. My current harvester ship is a stolen Onyx Watch ship which I have been playing off as "borrowed" from my allies, since they like me even more in my campaign at the moment than they like you. I'm at like, high 80-low 90 % approval rating with them. (It's gonna break my heart when I have to betray them in later playthroughs... :c )
