This is the third briefcase I've made, and the second soft-sided case. I was inspired by Saddleback Leather briefcases for this project. Considering the amount of time this took, plus all the tools, it would be much less expensive to just buy a Saddleback bag, but I'm not doing this to save money. I'm doing this because I have a need to create.
I drew from two main sources for the techniques in this video. Most of the hand stiching, the shields for the D-rings and buckle and billet, and the proportioning come from Al Stohlman's books on case-making. There are three volulmes, but here is the link to the first volume:

The other is The Leatherworking Handbook by Valerie Michael. It has great ideas, but I particularly used the gusset design here.
