Stephanie Jones is one of the most talented musicians in the world. She plays to the ear. Many very talented musicians get lost in demonstrating the depths of the musical talents and skill yet fail to make music that is pleasing to the ear. Stephanie's music is very much "musical". She underplays to her ability in an effort to make music sound beautiful. She is a genius.
@lyndafaye67482 жыл бұрын
I think you are referring to "music technicians" Jon. Those whose musical etchings are NOT "pleasing to the ear" just aren't listened to as much. Plus, different TYPES of sounds can also "sound" beautiful, depending on the levels OF appreciation of the listener's personal experience. I'd say her abilities lie moreover in her abilities to "Please different genres" of music lovers, in general, while, obviously having her specialties in classical. I WISH SHE WOULD HIRE A SECRETARY to attend to some of the details of her viewers ; I hope she responds to YOURS.

These aren't classical techniques though. (Edit: or at least I don't think they are.) I've never seen a classical guitar player move their hands that much. The intonation also isn't as acute as most classical performances. There are brief moments, so brief its the strum of a single chord, where she's forceful and it reminds me of flamenco, but I see no pulgar, or picado, or anything indicative of flamenco. Personally though I've never heard of "Latin picking", so maybe it's a tradition all of it's own?

@Toadywefly After watching this piece (twice!) and just watching the sheer technical prowess she has, I was lamenting to my wife that I would never be as good of a player as this. At 47, I don't have the dexterity I used to like I was in my 20's, and my brain isn't as fast as it used to be (not to mention all of the other commitments in life that I have). To paraphrase another commenter above "I could practice 26 hours a day and still not be half as good as this". It still makes me sad, as I would love to be able to play music like this, and especially share it with others.
