Auto tune is not just for enhancing the voice but it is used in artistic way, stylistic choice. So there's nothing wrong in using them except of course in a competition. Raw talent in competition is always needed.

Darren, the first kid, is currently one of the most popular and successful of his generation. After TVK, all of his singles topped the charts, his albums sold gold, platinum and double platinum, staged sold out concerts (he's actually the youngest who staged a sold out concert in moa arena). throughout his journey, he achieved lots of awards. right now, he's in London. he's gonna perform tomorrow (oct 1) for 1MX London music fest. please check out more of him 🥰

You are correct when you said that Filipino parents observes the talent in their kids, encourages them because that talent can help the family. Regine, Sarah, Morrisette are all products of singing competitions and have come from humble beginnings. When my granddaughter was 7, she came home and said she's singing in one of the programs in school. I've heard her sing and she has a steady voice but not stellar. Her parents still went to see her sing. She joined the Glee club at school and it really improved her singing voice. She's now our go-to-singer on karaoke celebrations.

This is why it's so difficult to make it in the music industry in the Philippines!!! Even kids can freakin' nail the classics! The competition is so stiff, the chance of you getting selected is so slim, much less winning! The general public's standard is very high when it comes to live singing/performing since majority can sing! Yes, you're right, the first boy is THE Darren Espanto! Zack, the boy with the guitar who sang Maroon 5's Sunday Morning, is now doing very well as an alt-pop singer. He sings, composes and produces his own music! You might want to check out his live performances on the Wish Bus. My personal favourites are Nangagamba, Cruel, and Binibini. Incidentally, Darren and Zack are good friends and they did a collab singing Zack's 'Binibini' -- also worth checking out!!!
