My father was from the Philippines (my mother Mexican) but I was born and raised in California and whenever we visited the Filipino side of the family or friends, children were almost always expected to sing and entertain guests. Was just natural to sing and sometimes dance or find some way to entertain. My cousins and I used to always laugh, especially at weddings or quinceañeras - we always used to say, "Never give a Filipino a microphone - they'll never stop!" (lol)

Many top Filipino singers came from humble beginnings. Marcelito Pomoy was a street urchin/orphan. Arnel Pineda (lead singer for Journey) was homeless for a while as a teenager. Bugoy Drilon grew up on a farm. Singing contests are very popular in the Philippines, and the best are "discovered" and launch their singing careers that way.

With due respect to you madam and to all your followers and subscribers, music is a part of filipino culture specially during party gatherings. Almost all party gatherings in Philippines is not complete and happy without videoke wherein all party goers are free to sing one after the other. The better singer has had the chance to show his/his singing prowess. Indeed, singing is one of the most popular hobby of all Filipinos that even childrens knows to develop their own singing talent of their own, coz mostly filipino families has had their own set of videoke sound system in their respective houses. Thanks for beleiving Filipino singing talents and featuring them in your yutube channel. ❤❤❤
