Apparently Pablo has written this in poetic language so the depth of meaning cannot be fully expressed in another language. Snow is used metaphorically about how life’s struggles,disappointments etc can leave us numb and cold but there’s always hope of better thus the quote at the end. Yes, the title of the song is Nyebe (Filipino spelling of the Spanish word nieve or snow). The same word, the same meaning but different in spelling.

Pablo, the leader and composer of most of their songs, is amazing with the use of symbolisms and metaphors in his lyrics. Nyebe is open to different interpretations, but Pablo explained that he wrote this during the height of the pandemic while thinking of people who live away from their families like the Overseas Filipino Workers. Nyebe can be interpreted as the uncertainties, problems, fear that people feel. But in the end there is always hope because of the assurances of people around you though some may be away from you. Hope you can listen to their other songs too like MAPA (a tribute to their parents), What? ( talks about being proud about one's identity), Bazinga ( dedicated to their doubters/haters), Ikako ( a song for the front liners of the COVID pandemic), MANA (short for Manananggal, a mythical creature in the Ph, signifying remaining humble despite of one's success in life), Tilaluha (literally means Stop Crying, a ballad about unrequited love), Hanggang sa Huli ( another ballad about love until the end). They also have up beat songs like WYAT (Where You At), Go Up & Alab. These boys are great performers who are better watched live. 😊

This song really moved my heart to the core, with Ken deep/chilly voice in the intro ,you can feel the emotion in your heart ,making it so heavy ,like all the burdens/worries/problems melted away especially when you're far away from your families & love ones .For me ,the song is gloomy but very comforting .This is the story about their lives from their humble beginning ...AT the end of the video, " the snow slowly melt " meaning worries/ sadness/burdens are fading away, their hearts not frozen anymore, goals/dreams achieved as they are together with a smile !!!

In other philippine languages we spell "nieve" the spanish way like for example in Iloko language we spelled the same in spanish. But nieve in Tagalog/Filipino is nyebe; all spanish words need to be tagalized in all spelling.

What I noticed is a lot of the Spanish loan words that we have in the Filipino language is spelt differently than Spanish, but pronounced similarly or the same. Like for example: Spanish “Chocolate” and Filipino “Tsokolate”…pronounced the exact same with the same meaning, just spelt very differently.
