Please react to Dafina Zeqiri-duro It is an albanian song that talks about people that are going through a tough time physically and mentally The title means endure and the singer gives a great message that you are not alone and we will get through it together, that she’ll be there for them . In the end she gives a phone number for people who are going through depression

After hearing Martin and Gary during their time it's hard to appreciate the next generation of male singers doing the same genre that these two were doing. They set a high standard. I used to save my lunch money just to watch their concerts.

So true. There's a reason why they say 80s to 90s era were the golden eras for opm and its because of the gifted artists of that time. The popular and awarded artists today like Mori, Sarah and Moira for the younger gen (I'll mention Charice coz she's a personal fave), they are talented but they still fade in comparison to the artistry of Regine, Martin, Gary V, Jaya and Lani.

Gary V will always have a special segment of his concert that would include a medley of worship songs. I've been to quite a few, he would do that bec he believes no matter what you religion you have, God speaks to you the same way, especially if youre going through a difficult time in your life, it lets you connect with him. I've also noticed that on his live performances especially when he's dancing Gary's voice is on point regardless of exhaustion, but when the worship segment come, there's a bit of cracking, it seemed he's holding he's tears trying to concentrate because he knows he's a vessel of worship and comfort to those who needs it the most.

It's not the crazy riff. It's the embodying of the song and the lyrics. It's the emotion brought to the song. In the Philippines, a success of a singer is not based on their technicalities but how they make you about the totality of the song. Making the song their own and making you feel their interpretation. This is the difference between great artists and legends.
@leticiachiok80573 жыл бұрын
Totally agree...these two musical artists are extraordinary individuals who have created deeper impact with the way they sing or interpret their musicality, beyond just performers. When I listen, especially to Gary Valenciano's singing and with his own compositions, it gives me joy, love, compassion and deep understanding of one's emotions.

After listening and seeing the new generation of Filipino artists, it is really nice for you to react and expose the world to those that have influenced the Philippines musical artistry. Just as you have mentioned in one of your reactions, singing is one way to show extreme emotion that when Gary and Martin sing, they sing from the heart so what you just experienced is their hearts and souls fully exposed. If i'm not wrong, Martin was already a superstar when Gary V joined the industry.they were each others' fiercest rivals since then.they're both excellent singers,songwriters,and were releasing hit songs after hit songs during their prime.some would say that Gary V had an upperhand because of his upbeat/danceable songs which appeal to the younger audience.for me, both are icons.
@sporadicfaneurysm3 жыл бұрын
Imho, it's not just bec. Gary's songs are more upbeat/danceable, but he just has a wider variety of musical genres to offer than Martin. Also, since Filipinos are generally religious, & Gary has always been very vocal about his faith (releasing christian contemporary music albums every now & then), he is able to tap a following, that isn't bound to a specific generation, beyond secular music. I, for one, know & have purchased/consumed more of his spiritual songs than his popular dance songs or hit love songs. ☺
@MrSuperralph233 жыл бұрын
Martin has the upperhand vocally for me coz he is like the Regine of the Philippines among the male singers. However, Gary is the total performer of this country. He sings with more soul, he composed more songs than Martin and he dances like Michael Jackson and he acts great! He already proved himself especially in MMK! These men are legends! They're different in many ways! North and South Poles, positive and negative, black and white... That is why they compliment each other in concerts, on the ASAP stage and as best friends. The reason why they are legends and have been around for 3 decades about to go 4 in a couple of years (I believe won't be that long enough). 😊
@joycedduk3 жыл бұрын

It's so deep! Comprehending is far greater than the enjoyment ot watching because spirituality is being nurtured by this kind of a piece of performance. One of the reasons why the musicality of Filipinos is so remarkable and has strong impact is the fact that Filipinos' faith and their spirituality in general are deeply rooted to The One Creator who is The Source Of their Talent, when they sing they are instantly connected to "The Source" because they acknowledge The Source they entrust every performance. This is the reason why most of the reactors of Filipino Singing Contents are able to notice and feel the very emotion of every performing artist, really hearfelt. I can say it boils down to one thing that Filipino Race in general is Musically Gifted. And that Gift that Filipinos are blessed with gives back Glory to The Source and glory to our Mother Land when countless victories had already won from various competitions worldwide. TO GOD ALL BE THE GLORY!

These three songs hold very special places in my heart, apart from having sung them countless times in my youth. "I Will Be Here" is my love song to my wife. I sing "I'll Be There (for You)" to my daughter as lullaby (and by extension, to my wife, as well). And "Take Me Out of th Dark" - well, I sing it as you do, to ask for guidance, strength and courage, especially in these times. A song for my wife; a song for my child; a song for our Lord.
