“Spain was originally composed as an instrumental jazz fusion by Chick Corea in 1971. A version with lyrics by Al Jarreau, "Spain (I Can Recall)", appeared in 1980. Glad that you finally discovered Gary V. He’s one of those older singers in the Philippines right now regarded as a legend. He actually coached Katrina Velarde and you’ll find a video here in KZbin them singing this song on stage live. If you want to see his day to day life, then you should go to his KZbin channel and watch his videos he produced while in lockdown in his own home, highly recommend “Take me Out of the Dark” and “Sa Yahweh”, which he composed. And he can really dance (not break dancing though). He is a songwriter and I guess his backing track might have been recorded by himself in his own studio. His kids are all grownup and can sing, too. One if his sons is a great dancer. His son owns that Wish Bus, the mobile radio station. He's diabetic and has recently survived cancer. I saw another reaction video to his song and it was my first time hearing him perform this song. Beyond amazing! So proud of Mr. Gary V! He is also very humble. He found out through a friend (from church I guess) that a child is so inspired by him that the child wants to enroll and study voice lessons from me. Gary V immediately made a video message encouraging the child to go for it and keep learning. He's so good!

SPAIN was composed by famous jazz musician Chick Corea back in 1973. Then in 1980, jazz singer Al Jarreau put lyrics to the song. Filipino singer, Gary V did his interpretation a few years back, doing his vocal percussion, scatting emulating various musical instruments like drums, sax, lead and bass guitars, the triangle, congo, bongo, etc. One could feel the musicality in him that singers and musically inclined individuals would surely admire. Gary V is an icon back in the Philippines. He is known as MR PURE ENERGY, a Total Performer if you will. The Philippines has tons of very good singers and Gary V is just but one of our great singers really.
