LaToya was the first person on AI that could have won but instead got voted out at the top 4, so technically she was the first contestant to ever get "Daughtryed" even though she came before Daughtry!

disagree. Tamyra Gray should have and could have won the first season. She was the first to be safe every night except the night she was voted off. she got 3d. but still managed to do great things. wrote Fantasia's winning song and did some acting.

To this day I still cannot figure out what America was thinking when they eliminated LaToya. She was Head and Shoulders above the rest of the field that season. Not taking anything away from Fantasia, Jennifer Hudon Dian Degarmo or George Huff, but I am sorry...LaToya sang circles around each and every one of them. Almost as big an upset and disappointment as Chris Daughtry or Adam Lambert not winning.

I definitely agree with you, i mean there are many songs that latoya can do better than mariah and vice versa. I think latoyas voice is more powerful and soulful and mariah on the other hand is more classical and has more range in terms of low and high! Both are amazingly talented though :)

Exactly. That was my point. Just because I stated that Britney outsold her and she didn't overall, doesn't matter. The point was that selling records doesn't equate to talent REGARDLESS of your definition of talent which is what he refuses to realize. Simon would argue success though. I think Latoya is a better singer when it comes to certain types of music. Mariah has her slow style of music, but wouldn't be truly fitting doing a broadway performance such as what this essentially was.
