That was a run-of-the-mill performance. Motown was its own sound.You could guess a Motown song the first time you heard it without looking at the label. Your great soul singers were girls like PP Arnold and Aretha Franklin.

Doesn't seem strange to you that many of AMERICAN IDOL'S contestants sing songs recorded by THE MIRACLES...YEAR AFTER YEAR, (Shop Around,Ooo Baby Baby, The Tracks Of My Tears, The Tears Of A Clown, etc) yet , after 25 YEARS, THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME REFUSES TO INDUCT THIS LEGENDARY GROUP ?? voice wise, LaToya London has it all (vocals, range) except she really has no fighting spirit of winning or she really has boring personality or maybe she's just down to earth. Fantasia was soulfully great but quite exaggerated sometimes. Jennifer was really voted out because she sings like Broadway although she has very big voice. look at this totally robbed contestant ever in AI history. Season's 3 Lisa Leuschner. I believe she would have won that season.

Nika Ledesma Lisa was robbed, but I don't think she had the personality to make it all the way either. If she had landed top 12 she likely would have placed in the middle.
